Lol i know what you mean. But I had to download to windows, which sucks, so i could use most of the programs i get and some games... People really need to think about Linux when making stuff lol.

Comments like this amuse me. Linux users always speak as though their systems are somehow superior, yet most spend more time tweaking its settings than actually getting any use from it. On top of that the majority of software isn't available for it. If you like Linux, fair play, but why not just run dual boot so that you get the benefits of each?

@FozZ: I agree with you there! :D

@Ozzi: If your PC is fast enough try VMWare

Personally I have a dual boot, but my main OS is Ubuntu. I understand that many apps run only on windows, but linux almost fills my needs, because i don't play games on PC anymore, except FoF, because i bougth an Xbox 360 (linux users doesn't mean anti-ms). When Guitar Hero II arrives to the 360, sure i will get it, but i will still play FoF, for sure (hope his guitar will work for PC, so i can sell the one i own). But i think as FoF is available under linux, mods must be released to both operating systems (well, MacOS too, it even has a compilation guide on the main FoF site).

I hope we have a howto set the environment and libraries under linux soon, i can't wait to play FoF modded without rebooting to load windows.

Fair comments, but just remember that the program iteself might be written by people who know both windows and linux, but people who mod will only know what they use. Anyway, i'm sure in time that all the mods will be available for both builds. Atleast mine are all graphics mods so they should be fine, lol

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

You're going to have a lot of trouble getting it to work if you're trying to use v1.0.

Look around for the thread with the latest version (v3.5).
