Ok people

After only 10 days of the initial release of 3.0, we're now at 3.5. 3423 downloads...almost 3500....funny.

This mod is for FOF v1.1.324 ONLY.

You can see the full set of changes in the changelog and included diffs.

You can download the latest version:

For Windows
For 32bit Linux i686
For 64bit Linux x64

(The linux links will not work until I can get syberdave to make the binaries again)

The scoring for held notes at the end of a HOPO is fixed.
Also some misses in HOPO sequences were NOT resetting the multiplier. This was also fixed.

The determining of HOPO notes had a few more fixes. One was just an off by one error. I also allow HOPO to follow a stream of the same note
---G
RR

To be a HOPO. This is GH2 style. I however do NOT allow HOPO to follow a chord
G
R
-Y
To be a HOPO. This is also GH2 style, but it's not something I am supporting. Do not report it as a bug.

2nd player HOPO was fixed (thanks for noticing Capo)
Separate options are now available for 2note chord, and lefty for each player (Thanks for the suggestion Drac)

Some cosmetic changes:

The GH2 parts were renamed:

Lead Guitar -> Guitar
Rhythm Guitar (Co Op) -> Rhythm Guitar
Bass Guitar (Co Op) -> Bass Guitar
Lead Guitar (Co Op) -> Lead Guitar

Basically 'Guitar' is the combined guitar part (which is the default).

Also the scoring for the former Lead Guitar (Co Op) has been changed from score_coop = to score_lead =

The part you are playing is also added to the results screens.

This will probably be the last of the 3.X series for FoF-1.1.324. I will next be working on 4.X for the latest FoF.

In order to install this mod you will need to

1) Be running Frets on Fire 1.1.324 on Windows (no linux version yet)
2) Back up the 'library.zip' file you find in the 'data' subdirectory
3) Replace the 'library.zip' file with the one included here.
4) Copy the 'folder.dae' file into the 'data' subdirectory
5) Copy the 'folderlabel.dae' file into the 'data subdirectory

Thanks -Alex

Some n00bish questions for ya'.

It's not nessary to replace the FOF_RF-Mod EXE is it? This is my first update since 3.0.

Can/how do I make sub-folders for mods? Don't matter much for the mods in general. But with all the Guitar Hero Necks I got(thanks to those contributers), I'd like to make a Guitar Hero Neck sub-folder for them. Since they seem to clutter up the Mod Menu.

Thanks! sounds awesome RF.

Just some questions:

Are you working on a new mod for the latest version of frets? is it possible to mod this in the new version of frets.

Ive Noticed you release the diff files of your source, is there any chance you release the entire source instead? at least just the modified files? I just cant get "patch" to work correctly in windows (what's the command line you use anyway?)

Are you working on a "star power" mod? Im currently working on one (pretty simplistic you get "auto star" after scoring a 4x combo) or a whammy bar mod?

Thanks for everything, keep up the good work!

rexmundi - you need to replace fretsonfire.exe. You have to rename fretsonfire-rfmod.exe to fretsonfire.exe. There are no subfolders for mods.

moglenstar - yes i got it and tested it. But it was not something I was going to put into this version.

azaraelkans - No, I'm not going to put the source files all up at this time. The diff files have the entire things you need. I'm not sure why you can't use patch correctly. I may post instructions later. No I'm not working on star power. A whammy bar is not feasable for FoF right now with the libraries it uses.
