Auto-difficulty notes changer - Don't know the right words

Don't know where this should be posted but to me it comes the closest to the 'thoughts' section.

The title seems a bit unclear but I don't really know how to name it right. Essentially it is about making an extra button in the 'song editor' part of frets on fire, called 'Calculate lower difficulties' or something. If your current song then has an 'amazing' difficulty the notes layout of the lower difficulties will then automatically be calculated!

After all, the change in difficulties in the majority of the guitar hero songs rely on standard protocols, one being the number of frets used. More protocols can be:
- The speedpicks are more placed apart from each other in hard, like:
00000000000000 = 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Very tough speedpick sequences should be simplified in hard:
00--------00
--00----00-- = 000000000000
----0000----
In medium and easy, speedpicks must be removed entirely, in easy they should be long notes.

- Very fast solo's should be easier:
0-0-0-0-0
-0---0-0-
---0-----
should be:
0---0---0
-0---0-0-
---------
on hard

And so on...
The reason I came up with this is because fretters then have to make amazing only, then press one button to have ALL difficulties! Of course this is a very hard thing to make and I never expect this to be completely implemented, but maybe there is something alternative to this (BESIDES fretting the other difficulties)

I always thought Hard mode was what it actually sounded like compared to what it really was? But great idea.

Nothing's impossible to make in C++... You'd just have to make a program go into the song and remove some notes, or move them over. It's possible. Pretty much just making a Hex Editor, but it's automatic.

Well, if in the 'notes' file for each note is checked if there are notes on exactly the same position but with a different fret then the program deletes one of them, the one that is on the highest fret or one in-between. Of course notes can also simply be moved.

On expert (amazing) if there are triple-chords, then on hard, notes have to be removed until there are only double-chords left. Of course a thing that is harder to put in is to check what kind of notes the chord is in-between and will leave that chord a triple-chord if it is easy to hit, even on hard. On medium there should be no triple-chords at all and on easy only very few. Same deal there, if it is an easy one to get it should remain a chord.

Oh I gotcha...
so you have to make sure NOT to use double chords too much on Expert. :D
Otherwise your Hard difficulty will be really easy.

This is a really cool idea, perhaps someone can incorporate some sort of simple program that will automatically do the job. (like a .BAT or .EXE of some kind :;): )

I was working on a hacker that changed bytes in VB6, but I might be able to go and try it, but we'd need to find what represents a chord. And then make an if statement for if it's a power chord, leave it be. Yet a chord, it gets removed one. But this is a team project.

The only possibility for such a program would be, that it scans for certain note patterns, and replaces them with the easier patterns.
You'd need a lot of configuration for this to actualy throw out something useful, and even then you would still have to go through the result, and adjust notes that just aren't fitting.

It looks like this has been suggested a few times, however it doesn't look like anyone is working on this. It seems like most people only fret the highest difficulties, so I think this would be a great feature.

Over in scorehero they already have a program for this, called ACE...but, the easier difficulties it makes suck 90% of the time...I do think it's a great idea, but it is so difficult to implement, we may as well just make the charts ourselves.

The problem is that it seems so very few fretters implement the lower difficulties. Ideally, fretters should manually do all the difficulties for all the instruments. However, for the countless songs where this isn't the case, this would be better than nothing.

GH: WT uses some sort of algorithm to fret lower difficulties on custom songs, but I don´t know if is possible to somehow rip the basic rules so we can get an idea of how should be coded.
