Get it while it's hot.

1.5 is here

Notable fixes:
disable song preview now works

Notable features:
Folder labels
2 chord down converter game setting (dont worry about triple+ chords any more)
End song in game menu to take you straight to the results
New note meshes (I had a beta version to FoZZ, but Seafoo came up with a good one so I used that)
Themeable fret colors (make that 5th fret orange if you want)
New song.ini variables for song creators so they get some air time.

Look for these likely features in 2.0

Audio syncer (for song creators)
GH2 selectable tracks (lead, bass, rhythm)
variable BPM toggle
Linux version
And anything else I break with this one, and whatever else I decide to throw in from the TODO list.

To read more about the original version or screenshots, go here

To download the current 1.5 version download here

BTW, FoZZ's new notes are included in the zip. use them they are pretty.

Also thanks to Seafoo for coming up with some good notes and code for implementing them.

Remember, read the README.txt.....or else.

Looking good! By 'variable BPM toggle' do you mean 1x, 1.5x, 2x scroll rate multipliers? (as in Stepmania) Would be useful on songs like Fury of the Storm, whose notes are so densely packed together that you can't tell what's a chord and what isn't.

For some reason the folders aren't working anymore after installing this :(. Selecting any of them brings me back to the exact same menu.

I suppose that means being able to toggle whether the GH(/II) songs speed up or slow down in the middle of a song when the song's tempo changes.

Wish I could say the same, after replacing the older library.zip with the new one, each time I start a song I get a message saying "'SongInfo' object has no attribute 'frets'" and a FPS of ~1.

Reinstalled FOF and the mod's working fine, seems I've somehow managed to f**k up my older installation.

Registered just to post that this mod rocks. The sub-folders + new keys are excellent.

Forks fine except for the two-key chord toogle. The thing is that the three key chords are still in the game and I cant pick them up. Even the one (1+2+4) that worked before.

This mod is great! hope it will be included in the next release, because if not, it must be coded again into the new upcoming sources.

The only negative think i see is it slows down about 10 fps max, normally 5-7 in average, compared with original 'library.zip'.

Greetings and keep up the good work!

I can't make 'fret1_color = #123456' work in 'theme.ini'. Perhaps is it a bug or am i doing something wrong?

It's not supposed to go into theme ini but into fretsonfire.ini (C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\fretsonfire), under [theme]. Took me a while to figure that out myself :p.

Btw, fret1 changes the leftmost fret (at least it did for me), so if you're after the GH style you should change it to fret5_color instead. As for the hex color code, I used #FF9933.

TapsaKn, what is the suggestion if we don't have the fretsonfire.ini the Application Data folder? (didn't use the Installer for FOF)

Also, with this new mod, is it possible to load the Artist name before the Song name?

I didn't use the installer either, but I think running the game creates the folder and the file. That is, at least, if you're running the newest version, in the old one(s) the ini's in your FOF installation folder.
