Actually all they have to do is offer just the game for the purchase price, and offer to throw in the songs for 'free'. Easy way to avoid problems :)

Maybe you can put a splash screen when you first start the game that this is open source software, and if you were duped into purchasing the software, to contact your credit card company.

Yup. Warn people not to play it. Then people just learn Python and remove it.

Saying delicately - it seems completely pointless for me.

Would it be legal/fair to sell a copy of the game on CD or DVD, with like 500+ songs, however, not including the .ogg files, and a credits file for all the artists and the people who freted it, as well as a URL to download the original?

Yeah, nothing wrong with that. You can sell GPL-licensed software. Fretted songs (.mid or .sng files) don't have any kind of licenses on them.

Thanks, :)
I'm thinking about doing such a thing, but just charging a dollar for the cd, and shipping, just to spread FoF not for income. ;)
