Here's the email I sent to their "Contact Us" email address.

Hi,
I’m a member of www.fretsonfire.org, and we’ve recently spotted someone who is distributing copies of FoF (with the GH I and II songs, along with over 200 community made songs) for £10 on Ebay. This is very illegal, and action needs to be taken against it and the seller. He’s made near £100 off this, an open-source game! Not only that, but he has had no permission from the song makers (some from www.fretsonfire.org). Please take action against this. You can find the item here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GUITAR-....ewItem.

Your fans,
Jake2k3 and the community at fretsonfire.org
Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

You shouldn't have used abbreviations. They probably don't even know what you are talking about, and I doubt they will click the link to the forum. But at least you are doing something about this ****.

I sent it to the FoF guys, not ebay.
They link to this forum on their main page, and one of the devs posts here from time to time. I'm sure they know who we are.

I'm sure they know what FoF stands for too ;).

Sorry, I skipped a few pages of the topic and thought you were talking about the people at Ebay.

Legally, it's not as bad that he's selling FoF or our community-created notes, but he's selling the music files as well. He may as well be selling a CD full of mp3s for those songs, all of which he doesn't have the license to do. I imagine Ebay would be more responsive to that part.

I agree for the songs, that's the main problem I see...even maybe the only one that doesn't respect ebay's policy. However, he still doesn't respect the GNU general public license for FoF by not giving credits to their authors...but nobody at ebay will care about the GNU license. anyway, I joined the "report" movement and contacted ebay too.

Barett..Very nice, probably my favorite weapon. Since I love the sniping style of fighting.

Back on topic...If he can make cash off my crappy fretting and labels, God bless him. I just don't want his actions causing us problems.

I wonder more about the idiots that would buy it? A modicum of searching the NET and you can easly find quasi Guitar Hero games.

Yeah, a real genius. 'Till he gets sued for a hell of a lot more than he's making off of it.
