Yeah, you should either be able to disable it, or it should be changed:

1. Make the HoPo notes pickable (if you press the note and then pick, you screw your multiplier)
2. The current HoPos need afaik the previous note to be played correct, that means you need to hold it until it ends. That way HoPo is not helping me at all. Its kinda useless on a fast row of notes, and if you pick them you get to point 1. There should be that you need to hold maybe 50% of the note.
3. HoPo should be for short single notes with small (smaller than now) distances between each other only.

Seems we need to wait for RF Mod ;)

We need some kind of options for it imo
Or some improvements of it

Although I intend to play the game with this thing enabled, I think the way it is in this new version is crap.

Also, I think it's completely stupid to reject possibilities for enabling/disabling things, as it will never harm anyone's playing style.

I love the HOPO idea, but the way it has been implemented in the new version is poor. The detection is poor... you need to press PRIOR to the note (that's not right)...

My longest HOPO combo is 5! And that was on a slow song.. I almost fell of my chair in amazement when i achieved that *sigh

You should be able to disable HOPO.

I intend to play with it enabled when it works correctly... but at the moment it doesn't.

I'm using the old version again
My custom songs can now be found in the one place:-Homerrulz Song Thread

How does it make sense?

If you press the pick button to play a note, it makes sense that holding it would allow you to keep playing notes in sequence. Think of it as a rapid fire gun in a scrolling shooter game. Tap it once to shoot one baddie, hold it and move side to side to shoot two. And that way if you don't want to HOPO, you don't have to. You can choose what to HOPO and what not.

Ummm, that'd be like picking a string and essentially holding the pick right below (or above if your picking up) the string.

Guitar Hero got it right. Period.

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

Maybe it makes sense from a shooting game point of view, but it makes no sense from a guitar point of view

But that way, aren't you just using HOPO but with the pick button held down?
Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.

Either way, this is a game. And, from a gaming point of view, it's completely logical.
Edit: you guys are trying to make things more complicated than they need to be.

What you're doing is activating HOPO by holding the pick down, so that you don't mess up, and you can pick it if you don't feel like tapping it. That way it's an in-game option, instead of having to select "HOPO on/off" from the settings menu.

Ummm, you can switch from HoPo'ing to picking mid-sequence in GH. And I'm pretty sure that's what the majority wants, is it not?
