Why would it take that much space? That would be almost like installing GH3 to play online.

If it takes more than about 5 mb, you're Doing it Wrong â„¢. (Or the networking library you are using is.)

At least if you already have a multiplayer mode. Which, as some mods demonstrate, can be done in a bit less than 1-3 gb.

Freaking Portal takes under 2 GB if you already have another game with the Source engine installed, and that has models, textures, and sounds out the wazoo.

K, here is the link to the Python Documentation:
http://docs.python.org/

You will find everything you need there. Have fun making an online+whammy mod.

h3r1n6, dont listen to onad. He's just a giant ****. I understand that the the modders have their own lives to deal with. But if someone like you or Rougue_F could make their respective mods, then THIS kind of "whammy" should take someone with the knowledge of python you have, no more than a few hours.

**** i would learn how to work with the engine and do it myself if i had the time, but this is the first time in a few weeks that i had the free time to read this forum, not to mention learn the documentation and workings of a game engine.

The online thing sure, that would be a **** even without exception handling, or the traffic handling problems. And besides thats not not an integral part of the existing game. Now the whammy on the other hand is simple and fun.

theres no point of having that kind of whammy even. it doesn't add new capability or fun to the game. i'd rather have someone code a working online feature that takes like 6 months than have another pointless mod released, like killswitch.
blah blah blah...

If we had whammy like GH, it would:

1) Take a lot of time. You would have to incorporate pyMedia.
2) It would make the track off sync. Plus, it entirely depends on your sound hardware.

If you don't believe me, check the other whammy topics.

1-3GB? That makes no sense. If you can have an IRCbot in python that uses under 2MB of space, why can't you have a complete multiplayer system in under 100MB?
