It comforts me to know that the reason of the flaming would be your fault. :D Welcome to the internet

And, o hai. Welcome to fof-ff, read the rules and learn how to use the search button. :p

Alright,

To bring this to a rest:
Skor, I apologize. Please believe me, it was pure innocence. (man, right down to the whammy.ogg :\). My excuse for not searching is: In my excitement in thinking that I had dawned on a good solution, i posted my idea quickly without checking the other threads to see if anyone had solved it. I kept seeing people saying that it was "impossible" without even offering reasons why, so I thought should share. Next time I will be sure to search.

Best,
-casper911ca

P.S. - now searching the threads for reasons why this wont work. If I dont find anything, expect me to come running back demanding such an explanation.

P.S.S - PLEASE flame me if you need to, your pride is more important to humanity then being civil, understanding, and being open to discussion.

Ok.... I may have over-reacted... I had a **** day yesterday, so sorry for flipping out... it just seemed way too similar to what i had said.

But ya, usually try searching.

Also, Welcome to FoF xD

skor, casper, neither of you thought of this idea first, so hush up :p (oh wait, you already did). Skor, YOU should try searching before you accuse someone of stealing your idea. That idea's been posted quite a few times before you had even registered here. I even posted this idea once.

Casper, stop prostrating yourself; skor, stop hyping yourself up like you did something special, lol. :p

In FoF 1.3, it would be good to see some new OOB songs.

I'm thinking even without any audio changes, having some visual feedback to the whammy bar would be somewhat nice. I mean, if you have it on your controller, a minimal usage of it would only be fun, ain't it?

then, if we can get an alternate sound to play with it, it would only be better.

I don't understand why we'd completely reject the idea of using something that's available.

This might sound silly ... but, I've been thinking the idea of "star/% -meter" that shows the current %/* you are having during the song. :)

Oh well. I know it's not very original idea v___v;;
Just something I had on my mind. :)

Does your mom tell you you're not special? That's sad... v_v. You are special, and it's really good that you can admit when you've over-reacted. Not alot of people can do that.

I said
stop hyping yourself up like you did something special, lol. :p

not
stop hyping yourself up like you're special or something, rar!

Those are two totally different statements.

Anyway, I think it'd be cool if FoF 1.3 had some sort of option to disable the multiplyer flash.

I have an interesting idea.

Perhaps there could be some way to help noobs get custom songs.

Basically, there'd be like a "Get custom songs" option on the main menu.

That would list all of the songs listed by fretter, artist, song name, what site they're from (fof.net, kof, fofspain, etc), song length, size, etc. And from there you could just download the song and have it automatically added to your main songs folder, or maybe even pick what folder it's DL'd to

That would be really cool and very helpful for noobs

I just had an idea that I haven't fully thought through yet, but it should be fairly easy to implement: Career Mode.

Song packs could be released with a simple .ini file dictating which songs are at which level, and how many you need to beat before the next level is unlocked. Each player's career could be saved in the .ini file to record song scores, percentage, etc., and it might even be possible to implement a career score board.

Of course each song pack would be listed as its own career, and custom song packs could be created, so you could have a "Guitar Hero 1 Career" or a "Songs with impossibly hard solos Career", or whatever. Maybe they would be called setlists instead of careers.

Another thought - an option to drop the 3D completely. There's nothing wrong with a 2D neck scrolling down the screen with 2D keys and 2D notes, especially when the background is a static 2D image anway. This would make it much easier on slower machines, and might free up some cycles for other fun stuff.

I have a small request for the next fof version: case insensitive file names! I sometimes find files such as Song.ogg, Guitar.ogg etc. which probably work fine under windows, but don't work with linux, since it uses a case-sensitive filesystem.

Thanks :D

People, I just want to remind you that this is what we want in FOF 1.3 that could be easily incorporated.

You people on page 5, even though whammy bar is possible and it could be done, how easy do you think it would be, it's one of those easier said than done, something like whammy bar would add another 100+ lines of code, you do not know how long that takes.
All these other things wouldn't be too hard, RF Mod, Capo Mod, and Hering's Mod incorporation would be hard and all, but it's already made so it's not that as hard to do, just some code splicing and adding a few lines, with whammy bar, every single bit of it would have to be coded. Yes, Rouge-F, Capo, and Hering were able to do this, but you see how long it took them, do we want to wait an extra 5-6 months to get whammy bar and then it turns out it's not as good as what we expected.

Oh, and on a side note, I added some requests to the first post.
