And to make the low .ogg for whammy just open it with audacity and Change Pitch and set it down by 50% or something.
Very good idea
(oh, but the whole "killswitch" concept has nothing to do with whammy... great idea, but calling it killswitch means something else entirely)HA! HA! Estoy Usando El INternet!!!1!

Ahh. . . i get it, guitar2.ogg would be exactly like gutar1.ogg but with the pitch changed. When the whammy bar is used, guitar2.ogg would play instead of guitar1.ogg. the only problem is that there are only 2 different pitches which is not exactly like a whammy bar. but still adds to the playing excitement

I think it's a cool idea; playing songs like Jordan by buckethead would be more "realistic" but there aren't many songs I know of that involve the use of a killswitch

yeah but it wouldnt be for a whammy, it would be used for a killswitch effect also pitch bending is hard to implement so i think killswitch is better also it can be used for Dead kennedys :p ( i will use it

Great idea.
I also don't think it would be that hard to implement.
Think of it this way...
When you're playing regularly you have the song.ogg in the background, and when you're hitting notes the guitar.ogg plays right?
When you're missing notes, the guitar.ogg gets muted.
Now, by having the three tracks (song.ogg, guitar1.ogg and guitar2.ogg) playing simultaneously and by adding another button, in this case the whammy bar on a controller or another button on a keyboard, you can simply switch between the tracks... i.e. during normal play, song.ogg and guitar1.ogg plays, and when you hit the button/whammy during an note hold, guitar1.ogg gets muted and guitar2.ogg gets unmuted. Doing this in rapid succession should create a "wavy" sound coming from your speakers.
Not too complicated i think... Unless adding the functionality for another button in python is a pain in the ass... i don't know seeing as how my programming knowledge is limited to java, and c++.
EDIT: Also, as far as songs that have already been made are concerned, how hard would it be to open up guitar.ogg in something like audaciy, change the pitch, and save it as guita2.ogg or whammy.ogg? I think i could do my entire song library (around 400) in about 2 hours.
