I tried posting this at Keyboards on Fire but I got no responses, hopefully the community here is better...

Well, I've been playing FOF for a while now and it has been fine, but recently it has just stopped working, it freezes at the "Tuning Guitar" screen. I've tried removing all songs except default ones, I've tried moving the location of it from my external hard drive to my computer and I've tried reinstalling. Nothing has worked so far. By the way I'm running Ubuntu Linux. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Sorry i know nothing about Linux. Hopefully some of the other guys will be able to offer assistance. Give it a while tho ( what with all the time zones) and linux not being the easiest of OS's, it might take an hour or so, for a linux guy to help you out :)

Our community is better :) we are simple folk, we live in caves, have steam powered computers ( i heard Dave from cave 36 has upgraded to a "mouse in a wheel" powered computer ) lucky bas*ard. We like cookies, beer, guitars and female " lady gardens " among other things.

Welcome to the forum! have a look around. May i advise, you have a quick look through the Forum Rules and the Forum FAQ just so you hit the ground running, so to speak.

I do not believe nobody asked about the log.
Are you playing from sources or binaries?

i thought it would only make an entry in the log, if it actually had an error report. From what this guy is saying it isnt doing that, its just freezing ?? * shrugs. Would that still dump out to the log file?

Or, if he is playing from sources, he can alt-tab out of FoF and take a glare at the Python console.

Well, I'm not 100% sure what you are talking about but I didn't actually install the game.. There is a folder called FretsOnFire, I open it and double click the FretsOnFire application, I am then presented with choices, Run in Terminal, Cancel, Run. I found that when I am in FoF I cannot alt-tab out of it, the only way is to Quit game, or if it freezes to ctrl+alt+backspace, because of this I can't look in the terminal to see if it is giving any error messages...
