Well I got this "Universal USB Convertor" at Walmart that converts XBOX/PS2/GC controllers into usb. I installed the drivers and then went to frets on fire and did the keys for the controller and it worked fine for the frets when I tested it. But for the strum bar, a lot of times the word "pick" will stay lighted up even when I'm not strumming, or it will lock into non highlighted so I have to strum a lot to get it to start working again. In game it works, but I have to strum like a note's length away from the note to hit the note (lag). Also it seems to be super sensitive, sometimes I'll just be sitting there during a quiet part or something, and at the top left it says "missed" or whatever it says for a miss-strum. So if the strumbar even slightly moves it registers it I guess. I tried to use joy2key, but all it has is left, right, up, down, and then buttons 1-32. So how do I assign the strumbar to a key?
P.S. Yes I searched

I had similar problems and used this link to fix it: http://www.althack.com/2007....troller

This link is from one of the threads about how to set up your guitar FYI.

I have this exact same problem (except the lag, just the controller). I've tried Joy2Key, too. If you switch (on j2k) to an option like "Advanced Control Config" or something like that, you'll find it recognizes the "POV-HAT" commands, which the Universal Adapter uses. However, the guitar doesn't always follow Joy2Key's settings.

Yeah I figured out how to set up the strumbar so it would work with joy2key but I had to put the sensitivity to 99% (100% would make it not work) and it's still pretty sensitive. Also in any song "kind of" fast like Ziggy Stardust, I'll start missing notes even though I know I am actually hitting the notes since I can easily hit the notes when I play guitar hero on PS2. So basically I have a little bit of lag for my strumbar, even in slow parts. I might try running FoF, and then alt+tab and setting it's priority to high and see if that may work. I only used joy2key for the strumbar though since the frets work fine with the game.

the good usb adapters can't be found at walmart or most other retail outlets. internet shopping is your friend.
