Does anyone know the error or if I should just reinstall.

This has been the first time it's happened. I tried searching for it but never got any results so I thought posting this would do no harm.

NOTE: I am using XP.

I get the exact same error message. It was working fine for weeks, then this happens.

i had it happen to me only once. id been doing a lot of 3D intensive work on my computer ( so it had a good thrashing ) then i got this error when i tried to play the game.
All i did was perform a cold reboot on my computer ( a cold reboot is when you choose Shut Down/turn off , rather than restart ) it properly clears out all your memory and calms your hard drive down, Sometimes a restart can hold things in memory.

I dunno if it will work for either of you, but it did for me, and it certainly wont do any harm trying it

Oh and one more thing.. Legendeath Clean your desktop man Lol Thats terrible how many icons you have on there. :)

Yeah. rebooting usually works. a couple of times, it didn't. then I turned it off, left it for a few hours, then came back. it worked fine then. crisis averted ^_^

kinda off topic, but it looks more like you're using vista than xp there

It's probrably some Skin... Now that the real vista is out, people could've made an exact replica...

its a vista skin, see how the bubble doesnt protrude the task bar. anyway, try downloading the new visual c++ runtime package, assuming you are running an x86 windows (you most likely are) heres a link.

No FretsOnFire.exe.log huh?

Would that be the FretsOnFire.txt?

Im guessing that it is probably something wrong with my files. Considering I tried all those steps with still no sucess. I guess i'll just reinstall thanks for the help.

Also it is a Vista Skin. You can get at I believe it's called Vista Transformation Pack.

I'm having the same problem. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the program, restarting, cold reboot. I even got the newest version of Visual C++ runtime program. I don't know what to do. I'll take any suggustions besides throwing my computer across the room. That doesn't work.......i tried it.
