Overdone Artists/Songs

How about posting a sticky telling newbs not to bother making certain songs, or songs by certain artists, that have, pardon the pun, been strung-out/fretted to death? Metallica, Megadeth, Muse, MCR... just to pick the M's out of the songs wiki. Because really, we don't need a 42nd version of A Tout Le Monde or Nothing Else Matters.

Well, I think those songs, although overdone and all, are still important and a good way to enter into the world of fretting, that is, fretting something you like or that is somewhat popular. Not only that, but having so many good versions to reference to, users can give criticism more particularly, like pointing out specific parts and comparing them to recognized charts and fretters. I think putting any barriers onto one's work, especially when it's supposed to be free and made for the community, seems kind of rude and unnecessary.

As long as there will be people to post (bump) topics about "overdone" songs there will be a reason for these songs to exist. If you're not interested in a song, simply ignore the thread, it will be forgotten before long. I know I wouldn't want to be the guy who tells people not to fret specific songs and then stop some new "fretting star" enthusiasm. Who knows really, maybe a new fretting version will really improve the fun factor of an overdone song.
