Ridge Racer 1-60 (The Enhanced version that came with Ridge Racer Type 4) is one of the best-looking 'retro'-style games the PS1 ever had.

Still, there's a reason why it's been constantly sold out for the past year (at least in the states) and it's obviously not because of the graphics.

but the graphics are clearly NOT last gen. they may not be "OMG THAT'S AMAZING!!!!" caliber, but they ain't crap neither.

You guys rock.
The best games have graphics that are considered "old" by most gamers...

And everyone knows game developers only add shiny graphic features because they're sponsored by ATI and Nvidia and such ...
IMO, 3D modelers, texture artists and programmers are artists forced to adapt to a form of entertainment that's getting old and has to adapt to a society getting dumber every day ...

That also explains games with a simple interface.

Sorry for the crappy long post, just had to rant on graphic whores.

I love beautiful graphics, but if the gameplay sucks, no good will come from there. I mean, for example, Burnout 3: Takedow is one of my favorite games, has beautiful graphics and EXCELLENT gameplay. GT4, for example has EVEN more beautiful graphics, but gets boring...
Yeah, Toribash is cool... What a shame I can´t use the shaders...

OMG I so loved Burnout 3 ...
You can't ever play Burnout 2 after having played the 3rd one ...
Takedown mode is just godly...

Last time I rented Burnout 3, I spent like 5 hours hooked on my girlfriend's TV crashing the **** out of other people...
She got mad and kicked me out, along with the game. lol.
