* hugs El nini, at least someone else understands.
The only reason people have asked for HoPo is because the songs from GH usethem, nobody writes custom songs with HoPo in. or at the most there is a handfull of custom songs with HoPo, we have managed for over half a year without it, so i dont see what the big hoohaa is all about.
If you all want rock meters and STAR POWER??, then go play GH, This isnt GH this is just a similar style of play.
Freetar is another one like this too, admitedly that more of a fretting program but you can still play along to the notes, so why was people not trying to get that turned in GH too.
Just out of interest , what the hell would be the point of start power?? its not like you can tilt your keyboard up and it does something different, Again this is just so people can have a pc game that is basaically GH, Screw that!
If all the guitar games ended up the same what the hell would be the point in having more than one.
Its like saying when the next version of Tekken comes out i want fatalities coz they had them in Mortal Kombat , fine go play MK, tekken is similar ( its a fighter ) but its not the same game. FOF is just the same in that respect!

Are you **** stupid? Now whos trying to replicate GH? If they implemented star power, which if you have played GH you would know is very good for tricky situations aswell as upping your score, they would obviously map the activate star power function to a **** key on the keyboard.
I bet you havent even played GH, if you had you would know that hammer-ons and pull-offs are almost essential to gameplay and also greatly improve the enjoyment factor, after all it is a game and games are meant to be fun.

ooh you know a lot of naughty words dont you. did your mom teach you them?
No im not stupid! if i was i wouldnt be doing the job i do, earning a fat wedge of cash in the process.

Who is trying to replicate GH?? im not and i havnt said anything that may indicate i would want FoF anything like GH.
Actually i have played GH 1 & 2, i had played them after i played FoF, i didnt think they were that great to be honest. Too much clutter, they could have made it just as good without as much Eye candy and "features" !
I much preferre FoF, its easier on the eyes the hands and the brain. if you dont then thats just fine, your entitled to your opinion. its not like i give a damn what you do with your copy of FoF.

I imagine that those bells and whistles in GH appeal to most console players.

I've read everything I can find including this whole thread, but I can't seem to figure out if hammer ons and pull offs have been implemented. They better not even release it unless they incorporate them, that should have been the very first thing they did... a guitar simulation without HO/POs is pretty damn useless.
Does the RFmod2.01 incorporate them? Because there was a thread a while back where Rogue_F was talking about needing help to incorporate them... but I can't find it on the full features list.

They arent in any released versions of RF_mod. I believe he's working on implementing them in RF_mod 3 but I'm not completely sure.

I think that even if frets on fire didn't want to be a GH clone, admit that the frets colors (except the orange-purple one), the fact that the multipliers go up to x4, the built-in capability to rip GH songs all contribute to indentify, at least a bit, FoF as a GH-like game. I understand purists who don't want to associate an excellent opensource project to a highly commercial music game so I don't think that star power is useful (since the game doesn't stop you even if you play like sh*t) but adding hammer-ons and pull-offs would not copy "playing guitar hero" it would copy "playing guitar". Sometimes I feel like I'm tearing my keyboard apart. Some songs are complicated and if no songs have yet been made with hopo, it could happen if they were implemented. I don't think many guitarists play incredible songs and solos by picking at all notes.
