The unpak.pl script was written for the PS2 files and won't work with the Xbox 360 files ... which also have the extension .xen, so presumably they are the same as the PC ones. Interesting.

From what I've been able to gather (GameZelda mentioned it earlier) the .xen files are simply compressed, but I haven't looked into how to decompress them just yet.

The script doesn't care about the name of the file, btw.

ah, yeah I figured the filename wouldn't matter.
But if there's anything I can do to help with the process let me know, I'm an electrical engineer so I do have some experience coding :)

Hey guys, I got Gh3 for the pc. If it will help you guys out i can upload the files somewhere. Just tell me where to upload them to!

I just went and looked at the folder it is installed in. All the files are .xen files. I don't know if you guys already know what that is, or how to decode it or what not. Just trying to help out. I want to upload these somewhere, its going to have to be multiple uploads because the stuff is so big...

Can someone upload the song folders of X-box download content because I think they will work with the PC version, if you just drag and drop, since they basically use the same files. The PC is zn X-box port.

I can't download anything online because I cant create a online account, since I have a pirated version with no serial #.

Speaking of the 360 downloadable content, I took a look at the files last night and I worked out the following things:

1) Overall, the byte order is big endian.

2) The pak files are very similar to the PS2 version, with the exception that the filename is not stored in the header at all, and each header entry is only 0x20 bytes long, compared to the PS2 headers with filenames, which are 0xC0 long.

I quickly hacked my unpak.pl script to deal with the differences and was able to extract files from the pak file. They do not appear to be compressed/encrypted like the ones on the game disc. In fact, the first file in each pak, when examined with a hex editor, looks exactly like the .mid.qb files from the PS2, but in big endian byte order.

I think that should be enough information for the more technical amongst you to extract the files and convert to FoF.

I'm not sure about the sound files.

PS: No, I will not upload the files somewhere - you're expecting me to help you pirate software?

No, not software, just songs. Someone already helped with the software. :)

This thread is about converting the GH3 tracks, and that only. Arguing legalities here of all places is retarded.

Edit: deleted off-topic posts. If you guys want to argue, do it in PMs.
