I'm looking around for sites that also have FoF songs I can snag. I found this site here and was wondering... is it safe?

I got a Mac, so I'm acting like i'm invincible
I don't know, it seemed really awesome! HEAPS of songs, and the info seemed legit. But when I downloaded a song, they were all .exe's.
not good for the Windows user I presume... That part seems very dodgy...

I wouldn't trust that site at all! .exe's instead of rars or zips. don't trust it. probably a fully loaded virus site

Re: Is this site safe?
Before I registered to this site (FOF Forums), I went there (site with 2000+ songs) to get Run to the Hills by Iron Maiden because I want it and I don't want to register just to get songs. It's in .exe, but it works. So I say:
This site isn't hosting files filled with viruses, so it's A OKAY!!!!

Re: Is this site safe?
The files are auto-extractable 7-zip archive. I scanned a few and they seem to be clean but still, get them at your own risk. The boards usually encourage people to upload and download songs archived in a non-exe format to reduce potential risks. I don't believe it's much harder to search in the wiki's custom songs database to find songs anyway. Even if the website claims to give information about the available difficulties, for some of the few songs I got from there this information was wrong because of "safety tracks/notes".

I think the site is safe. I downloaded many songs form there and you don't have to execute the file you can easily extract them.

Get 7-Zip. Like Raph said. That's what compressed them.

No you are not. I'm on Linux, but that doesn't mean I am safe. No operating system is safe from a users stupidity. That is how most malware exists.
Which ties to my next point, only download things from sites that you trust. exe's are suspicious, so be wary. Scan them upon retrieval if you insist on using them.
