I've noticed that a lot of links here use the MegaUpload site. Ok.

But the site usually has a determined amount of slots for each country, and they're usually full. Not a big deal, when you can do something to go through this.

Usually, they say you can install the "Alexa Toolbar", which will allow you to download the megaupload files when you want. Cool deal, right? Not really, when it comes with a few adwares, as some people have reported.

But, you can misslead the Megaupload site to *think* you have the Alexa toolbar.

I've done it, and works really well. At least, for Internet Explorer, here in Brazil... but I believe it could work for everyone else.

It's done very simple, without any danger: it's a registry modification. Sure it sounds dangerous, but it's not - it just adds a single line, so don't worry about it.

Here's what the .reg file have:

Code: Select all

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\5.0\User Agent\Post Platform]
"Alexa Toolbar"=""

If you feel "veteran" enough to create your own .reg file with that information, go on. If you can't do it, here's a link to download it:
http://rapidshare.de/files/32926455/MegaUpload_Crack.reg.html

Just double-click it, and add the information to the registry. Now, feel free to download what you want, without worrying about spywares of the toolbar...

Hehe, nice.

I think you could use a proxy as well, but you'll use up bandwidth for another country I guess.

Nice! My thread is sticky :) I hope it helps everybody...

I've already discovered a way to allow Firefox to bypass the limit, but as I can't edit the first post, and haven't translated the proccess to english, I can't post it right now... but I'll do it later.

I figured you'd had to mention it enough times to warrant it being a sticky. The method doesn't work for me but I know it helps some people.

For FireFox users:

- Open up your Broswer, and type about:config at the address bar, then hit Enter.

- Now, search for something called general.useragent.locale. When you find it, double click it.

- In this place, you might find something like en-US, pt-BR, or any other thing, which will vary based on the language.

What you have to do is to edit this, adding a ; Alexa next to it.

Here, the final result was pt-BR; Alexa, for example (as it was pt-BR before).

After editing in, confirm the changes and exit.

You might need to restart the broswer.

I guess this won't work anymore. Aparently, Megaupload changed a few things, like not using the standard alexa toolbar, but a new toolbar of their own, so these things aren't working anymore. Sorry...

I'm currently trying to discover new ways to bypass the new system, but I coudln't figure out yet.

Finally, I just found a FireFox extension that can bypass the quotas.

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3843/

Works fine here. Just make sure you reset your FireFox after installing it, then, enable it (Tools -> Megaupload 2 -> Enable)

Viva o brasil hehe!
back on topic
And what about Opera?

And how the heck I use proxys?
if you don't put a screen up, people won't waste 2 mins to download it, extract it into mods folder, start the game, mess with the settings, choose a song to play it in. Because internet folk are a lazy breed. Without a screen, we can't be guaranteed it's worth our while, so we won't download it.

I'm sure there are proxy settings in the options. The hard part is finding a free, working server

2 things

1. online proxy: no download www.kingkongforum.com

It is a free, working surver that runs at a fairly high speed.

2. i would find it very amusing if you posted the file on mega-upload as well
