All the info on here is from another thread (which no credit has been given to), i suggest you google it, once the other place has found out how to do it entirely, you can bet this place will credit themselves for it

I googled it myself and the only relevant thread that popped up was this one.
So I guess maybe you should be more specific.
They will get ripped sooner or later by somebody.
Of course...since they already ripped the .mid files they could post them but nobody seems to want to do that.

It's all via hex editing at this early stage but everything you need to know what to look for is listed in that thread :)

you need a certain DVD drive to rip 360 dvds

there's only a couple models that work and they are like over $100

thanks for both answers and especially thanks to smiling_dave, the posted thread is really awesome.

i thought i could rip some images out of the game to make a mod for FOF but it seems that it is not possible?!
would it change anything if i haven an image of RB2? can any emulation software emulate a drive like called above?

I haven't looked into it but from what i recall to copy the actual disc itself, you need a special drive & then once the disc is inserted it cycles itself repeatedly until it finds a magic offset number then you rip it from there & even then it takes a long time to rip because it has to be done at 0.5 or 1x speed (i think?), it would probably be quicker to dl on a 1mb connection & less costly too.

The only way to rip songs at the moment is to edit the midi files (like charts in GH) like the rips from GH are done here rather than XMA encoding (listen to the "The Metal" & hear the clicks at the beginning) & then use an optical out connection to get crystal clear digital audio recording, it takes a long time but it's the only way at the moment until some cleaver so & so works out the magic key encryption :)

thrash 'n burn wrote:yeah but think about how good we've had it around here. All the GH and RB tiers in their entirety, plus RB DLC, and GH3 dlc, which startled to trickle out recently. Plus GH:A, and now even On Tour.

If it takes a bit longer for RB2, then I'm cool with that, because by all rights, we should be paying for this **** lol.

Quoted for truth. I'm definitely willing to pay $189 USD for that game. I'm spending it on GH:WT however :D

When it happens, it will happen, there are alot of people working on this so it will be hard not to notice when it becomes easily accessible :)
