How do you change the hopo indicator from the spot color to the ring color so it looks more like GH? It use to be like that in the RF-mod beta.

The game itself runs flawlessly.

In those pics it's running at the full 80 FPS I have it set to. It's just that the notes are all scrunched up and the board moves incredibly slowly. At a snail-like pace.

All my songs are still in sync and everything, they're just.. slow.

I just noticed while I was testing songs, that the default songs that come with FoF don't have this problem. I didn't ever reinstall those, though, so why are they still running at normal speed?

You probably had VBPM turned off before.

Freebird runs how it's supposed to run. It speeds up and slows down because of VBPM. It's the same on 1.2.451 standard, it's the same on RF-mod-3.5 it's the same on 1.1.324.

It 'changed' because you either changed something, or you added some other mod that changed something.

I find it just unplayable right now.

Well, you're just frankly wrong. Nothing has changed with the timing of notes.

As for HOPO's there's very little difference between the beta and now and between 4 and 3.

But you can go back to 3 and use that, but I am not doing any further work on 3.

You are probably Holding R, and Rolling to G. You might still be holding on to R as you go to G. Then when you are going to yellow you're still holding R or G and then you've got a 3 button combo that may not work with your keyboard.

I've seen cases where the actual hammer or pull works against you on a keyboard because of this. If you 'tap' meaning release the previous note fully before going to the next it works

-Alex

Actually, I use a X-Box 360 GHII controller, so it's not a keyboard thing. As far as holding other buttons goes, even when I ignore everything else, and just try to go for those two notes, I can't hit them. :(

Now that you released RF-Mod 4, the FoF devs will release a new Frets On Fire version 1.3.245 tomorrow :D:D
Just kidding :)

EDIT* I'm sorry if someone already said this or it was in some README, but are the HOPO hit margins smaller than regular notes? ???
When I played, I felt that I could hit a regular note very early. But when a HOPO note came, I found it hard to hit it?
Was this the intention?

No they are the same as in RF-3.5. The only thing that is different is that the margins are recalculated with VBPM (similar to capos).

-Alex

is there any way to change that?

Use the source.

But the changes made both on capos and mine do not make it worse it makes it easier.

It's likely you have done what I have said (deleted your fretsonfire.ini) and lost your original AV delay settings, and now they are not the same as they were before.

You use a 'Ring' note instead of a 'Spot' note like the documentation says.

Oh ya, h3r1n6, worldrave said something about you making a hering mod that will be compatible with 1.2.451 as soon as fr-mod 4 is released. is this true? are you going to really? BECAUSE THAT WOULD OWN!!!

i too found it harder to play songs with.

yes, it´s harder for me, too.

Just try Defy the machine on medium and the following seconds from 2:24. This part comes two further times in the song. When i miss a note, it´s very heavy for me to come back into the song in this part. Don´t know why.

I testet it with fof 1.1 and it´s much easier there.....
But who cares - i think, if you can play it good at 1.2 you can easily play it perfect at 1.1 :;):

it works wonderfully, I love the GH POV and all that

it's like RF3.5 but with some added spice. Very nice.

only problem is that its nearly IMPOSSIBLE to restart a HOPO chain but I'm pretty sure it's been established that it's a bug in 1.2.xxx

i am finding numerous problems with the HOPO's the more i play. they are goofy and they don't always register my hits. not trying to sound like whiny **** because RF 4 rocks, otherwise.

Well I find it better now. Just get used to it. After playing it for a while it becomes easier. But I sort of find it hard to do the HOPO, But it just seems to be a matter of Timing. Since the point of view is set on GH, I had a hard time hitting the notes just because of the angle. It's probably the same thing wit the HOPO. You will probably get used to it.

Is there any way to get Crazy Neo's Score amp to work with this? Whenever i Copy the files it tells me to over the library It just F**k's up.

I'm very interested in the 'start song from command line' feature, but I can't seem to get it to work. I know I have correct folders, because I'm using a script to choose a random one. FoF starts up normally but I get the game menu, not the song.

My Run dialog: "C:\Program Files\Frets on Fire\FretsOnFire.exe" -p Downloaded\canonrock

FoF starts up with the main menu and nothing more. I'm using the latest RF with GH Mod enabled.
