First Sony, Now Nintendo...Xbox Next
As a casual gamer I went to get on my PS3 and noticed I could not login to PSN. Usually, a notice from Sony would have appeard saying they would be down for maintenance on a said date. This was not the case, and oddly enough, it's worldwide...
The link shows that a possible outside source of the crash means that the hackers that we've been hearing about lately have made a move as they promised in said link below. Sony also states that it may be a few dates before PSN will be fully functioning as well.

Thoughts on this?
UPDATE:
PSN was indeed hacked as Sony states below in this link:

Re: PS3 Owners Must Read ASAP
Activision broke the news hours ago. Sony said it will be a couple days until it's back up

That last update seems kinda hacker/scamish.
If you can't view it it says:
Submitting credit card information will allow you to use PSN again.

Re: PS3 Owners Must Read ASAP
This question may look dumb but what can possibly happen to the gamers in the worst scenario? I mean I don't want to lose anything on my gaming records and stuff
Damn today I was going to start achieving the multiplayer trophies of GTA IV. Cause I already won the others. working on the platinum yay!
Let us play on-line Anonymous please leave that attack!
I don't really get their obsession on getting Sony's attention...

If this is Anon, they're not helping their cause. The best way to go about this is to get people on your side, in my opinion. If they're bringing down PSN, which affects millions of "innocent gamers", the ones they want to help, they're shooting themselves in the foot.

@Crazy.neo
I agree. I highly doubt he had anything to do with it. Anon hopefully will stay far away from Sony. IDK why people are doing this anyway honestly. What's the point? To p*ss off millions of users and then getting sued up the ass? I mean all they'd have is the pride to say they did it which isn't enough to make me personally even think about doing something so remarkably stupid. Just my 2 cents.

Re: PS3 Owners Must Read ASAP
First off..who cares about online unless you're a CoD nut. Play GH, RB, any other game that has a fun off-line aspect. Hell, play some of your aging PS1 games (if you have them still). This is nothing to baw over, sony should have it fixed in a couple days.
Second (and lastly), you're a towel
-- Edit (I lied...also lied about the cake) --
I agree with crazy.neo. There is no way in hell that they would be stupid enough to basically cripple the PSN community again. I dont think they would be able to handle the back lash of PS3 fanboys with machine guns (hehe)

Re: PS3 Owners Must Read ASAP
Didn't those responsible for the DDOS attacks already apologize for it?
Also, we have a thread for this already.
