Hopefully the last release, link in first post points to the new version.

What's new?
- So much faster! Before, all three uploads started at the same time, and it got clogged, now they wait for the one before to finish.
- It says "Done" when it's done...

I'm not having any problems with it. It's great.
I thought the charts only uploaded your higest score for the song you just played. How do I set it to upload all my scores?

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

I'm pretty sure it always uploads all scores, but the official charts (and therefore the forums) seems to know which score is the newest and only keep that...

I was looking on my "Ten Songs I haven't played before" on your chart the other day, though. It said I had no high-score for Cheap Trick's "Surrender". I know I'd played it before I registered to your chart, and when I checked, lo and behold I had four scores for it in-game. I don't know about the official or forum charts, but I know it only uploads your scores for a song when it plays it.

A standalone script that added all your scores to one chart would be nice, though.

Oh, maybe I misunderstood you, there is a script to upload all scores, Sneftrup made it a long time ago, here.

Hmm, ok. Thanks. How do I get it to work? I put it in my library and played "Woman", put it still only uploaded that song. Do I have to run it with something?

Oh, for the uploadScores.py, you need python installed, then run it from a commandline with "uploadScores.py fretsrootdir uploadurl"...

but this script will work only with sneftrup based php chart. i was chatting with a guy on the jabber server (subliminal message --> the forum has a chat room on a jabber server with a fretsonfire channel) the other day and he fixed up another version of it so it uploads to the "world" chart, here it is, i dont think the guy (Dilvish I think, all credits to him) will be angry about it
uploadScores2.rar

use the same command line

Ok, I found this walkthrough and am having problems.
m0nkiii wrote:First of you have to have python installed... http://www.python.org/download/

Windows:

Start-button -> Run -> cmd -> go to the dir you have uploadScores.py -> uploadScores.py frets_dir upload_url ("uploadScores.py C:/games/Frets http://chart.gamingrecon.com/upload.php)

Run: "uploadScores.py frets_dir upload_url"
e.g. "uploadScores.py C:/frets http://www.myhomepage.com/upload.php"

The program might stop in the middle of your songs. It might be because you don't have all information in the song.ini file. Fill out the info and run it again.

I made it to "go to the dir you have uploadScores.py". The command prompt shows this:

Code: Select all

Microsoft Windows XP [Version 5.1.2600]
(C) Copyright 1985-2001 Microsoft Corp.

C:\Documents and Settings\Jacob>C:\uploadScores.py
Frets on Fire Score Chart score uploader script.
Usage: uploadScores.py "frets root dir" "upload url"

Written by Morten Sneftrup Pedersen

C:\Documents and Settings\Jacob>

I get lost at the next part of the walkthrough. Help?
~Jake2k3

EDIT: I just want to upload to Divra's, for now.

If you have Frets on Fire in C:\Program Files\Fof and want to upload to my chart, type

Code: Select all

"uploadScores.py C:\Program Files\Fof http://chart.gamingrecon.com/upload.php"

Code: Select all

Maybe you can't have a space in the directory name, I don't know...

You have to put it in " " marks if there is a space
