I don't know how to emulate this spinning, or left right switch thingy, but you could use any normal 3button to emulate the scratching thing. I don't know how hard it's to do with phyton though.

Ooh... Taiko mode... Good idea Blazin

Actually... That just gave me an idea for a Taiko theme.
And if you were able to visually collapse the current 4 drum lanes into one (there would still be 4 different notes, mind you) then you could use Taiko mode on any existing drum track.
Damn all these ideas people keep putting in my head

Re: Well i guess everyone else is scared to suggest DJ hero
well, I lik death_au's idea
maybe we could use 5 buttons for
1 green
2 red
3 blue
4 crossfader left
5 crossfader right
and then 2 more to scratch up and down
Cross fader model try
---Button one----------------Neutral----------------button 2-------------
---Left------------------------Button 2 --------------button 2 2 times------------------------------------
---Button 1 2 times----------------------------Button 1------------------------ Right----------------------

Re: Well i guess everyone else is scared to suggest DJ hero
Using the mouse to scratch is a completely viable method of doing it, so viable infact its how all the other DJ programs do it. if any of you have ever used Atomix virtual DJ or even deckadance ( a dj plugin for other music apps ) they all work the same. you use the left mouse button to grab the deck and just push or pull the mouse to move the deck forwards or backwards. same thing could be done here. use either the left mouse button and scratch to do the left track and the right button and scratch to do the right track. ( middle track doesnt get scratched in dj hero ) and you could also use the left, middle and right buttons as the effect buttons. then just use 3 keys for the cross fader. i say 3 coz the fader actually has 3 positions. left middle and right. otherwise you would have to tap right fade twice, if it was faded over to the left tracks. 1 to make it go back to center and another 1 to make it go right.
Obviously the programming side of it isnt gonna be eazy peazy. but the theory behind it, could work just like any other DJ app out there.

It would be amazing!
I Love music from DJ Tiesto, LMFAO, Dj Chuckie and other DJ's!
Maybe you can use the arrows on your keyboard as crossfaders?

one word: no **** way
FoF isn't about DJ n' stuff, hence the name: Frets on Fire
if you want DJ hero, create a game named turntable on fire or whatever

But we have Drums... and Vocals... Those don't have frets. Ergo, your argument is faulty.

This. Same as Guitar Hero has drums and vocals as well. It's just a name.

Re: Well i guess everyone else is scared to suggest DJ hero
It belongs if it can be successfully and creatively implemented. Cool idea. It does seem kind of like a leap beyond the scope of the FOF, but so did pitched vocals at one point. I can think of at least a few bands that would make good multiplayer with a DJ.
The only reason i could think of to oppose this is that I still just want 10-key keyboard/synth/piano support, which would be a much simpler mod process that remains untouched, lol.

how to chart pitched vocals with Feedback+notepad (tutorial).

I can't say definitely because I've never tried, but somehow I doubt it. Especially as all you'd have to do is check that the mouse moved up or down a specified amount. You wouldn't even have to keep track of where the mouse was.
I think getting mouse in there would be the easy part. Getting it to do something useful would be more tricky

There should be plenty of usable Python libraries for polling the mouse.
