Out of curiosity, could I get a screenshot off you of this happening? I just want to make sure I'm seeing the same as you. I think I know what you're talking about, but I'd prefer to see a screenshot from you, just to make sure.

Resized since the forum crops it otherwise..

You can't really see it much in that, but when you're playing and you also have hit flames on top of it, 90% of the time I miss the pink and green notes as they're almost impossible to see while playing :(

Edit: Damn, still cropped!

It isn't cropped using the Rainbow Pearl forum theme.
Anyway, I see what you are saying. I asked for a screenshot because I was afraid it was making it brighter than it was supposed to (i.e. a program issue as opposed to a theme issue), but that's not the case.
I see what you're saying. Especially with the green note. Bright blue solo + bright yellow overdrive + bright green hitglow = invisible green note.
What to do about it though? My first thought is to maybe make the overdrive neck grey instead of yellow. Much easier to see. But it... loses something.
I'm all up for making an alternate overdrive neck for people to use. I'm open to suggestions.

It's fine with the GH:WT theme for me o.O, only seems to affect the RB ones..

I like the looks. It would be fun to try out once in a while. I haven't tested it out but I think there's a chance that it will be difficult to see during hard sections in songs but I highly doubt it. Your a good theme creator.

I've seen this done by our Master Fretter, Puppetz.

He replaces the OverDrive neck with a purple one instead of a yellow one.

But in this theme we have a purple note, so it may just make a different note harder to see...

Great theme man, love the old school feel to it. I agree about replacing the purple note with an Orange one. I also agree about changing the overdrive neck to be gray, i mean i don't even use the normal RB overdrive neck because it masks the notes, this does the same thing.

Keep up the the great work though, i look forward to future updates. :smile:

------EDIT---------------

How about these, I use an actual NES Palette (and GIMP :wink:) to change the colors, if you wanna use them feel free.

Image

------EDIT---------------

Forgot these, i put them in a quote box cause the red notes/frets blend in with the default color of the message board....

And change the the following in the theme.ini file

Code: Select all

fret4_color = #FF00FF

Change to....

fret4_color = #FF9900

Wow this theme gives me unbelievable FPS lol i get 160-50 fps lol

For 4.0 We should take this theme Modify it a bit where it will have nothing so it gives you the best proformance like how i had it running when i had awesome fps
make it so you can just play the song no rockmeter no score or star meters, so people with ultra slow pc's can still run i think it could be faster than Uberlight i think because the images are 8 bit it removes tons of processing from the graphics card having to calculate the colors and i think if im right if we make a theme all 8 bit, or even better grey scale we could get some pretty old pc's to run fofix very well some one could call it
EpicMacroLight or Something like that im going to mess around with this for a while might base it off a combo of this theme megalight and uberlight
