That's FoFiX, he asked for Frets on Fire... (although I'd get FoFiX instead of vanilla-FoF, since FoFiX is being actively developed)

Newest version(v1.3.110) is rumored to be buggy, so you should use version 1.2.451 instead. It can be downloaded from here.

Nobody in their right mind would suggest vanilla-FoF, since it's such a dead version of the game. "FoF" can easily be considered to encompass all branches, including Alarian, etc.

But without vanilla FoF, no one would suggest the 'alive' one like FoFiX either. And why are you saying vanilla FoF is 'dead'? Its not, I'm playing it, more than FoFiX.

He's saying that it is dead because it hasn't been updated in ages.

FoFiX still has active development. (albeit, slow as of late.) Has many users, and is used themed by the majority of theme makers. Not to mention the additional features that come with FoFiX.

The fact that FoFiX is a branch of stock FoF is moot considering the lack of updates for the latter.
