NEED HELP FAST!!!!!!!

i just bought a ps to usb device to play with the guitar hero controler and when i instaled its driver it didnt let me select buttons for keys. it said "easy to use, hot-plug into usb socket for youre pc and install the driver, then it works perfectly". that is exactly what it said.

That's odd, I didn't even install drivers for mine, it just picked it up as a generic joystick device, then I just set the controls to joystick buttons. Do you have the latest version of the application?

latest version? i just used everything it came with.

No no, of frets. The version before the latest one didn't have joystick support i'm aware

i have the latest version yes. the one that supports the guitar hero songs

I see. And your computer is registering the conversion box at all? Have you tried resetting?

[edit]Odd, that converter looks exactly the same as mine (albeit mine is red) and I just plugged mine in and away it went. I'm sure it CAME with drivers, but I never installed them.

i dont know if it is resisting it or not. i think it is just supposed to work with pc games and not key functions. i will try restarting

key functions? are you using joytokey or just the program? You should be able to just plug it in, go to config keys, select the button and hit the button on the guitar and it will come up as a joy button.

no setting, no program to go with it, no nothing. it just has the driver that is supposed to tell it what keys are used in a regular pc game. i need it to work with keyboard keys like most pc controllers.

yes i do have joy key, it would not identify any of the buttons at all

what you need to do is go in and set up the joystick buttons yourself as I mentioned earlier, there shouldn't be a driver that's supposed to do that for you.

how do i set them up my self. it never came with a program. just the driver. i am preforming a serch on my computer about all the files it installed. i will se what i can find to edit

Just open Frets on Fire, and go into the key config in the options.
Go to "fret one" and press in the green fret, it should register as a Joy button, that's the joystick, or in this case, guitar.
