By laying the groundwork, I mean making it possible for other shooters to make it big on consoles. True, there were other great console shooters before it, but it didn't really take off until after Halo was made and became popular.

The only thing halo made popular was the xbox itself, as it was probably the only first-party title that ever got popular on that console

And that is why the console game market is dominated by shooters today.

Really now? Tell me. How many FPS games gained popularity before Halo. Nearly all of them were terrible with **** poor controls.

You mean on consoles or what?

Well there's goldeneye and perfect dark for the n64, although I don't believe that those had any actual influence on the production of Halo. The controls were a little weird but overall all console shooters have godawful controls so I find goldeneye's controls hard to hate

Because if you mean the genre in general I could make the biggest list ever and call you a moron so many times although it'd probably not be very funny

Would you still be saying the same thing if it were a Sony exclusive?

Anyway, both look cool but I have to go with Sony. The tracking is at sub-millimeter accuracy which is awesome and means for more precise control in game. Also, you need to hold something it can't all be hands free, I don't think the immersion would be the same. Some actions call for buttons, yelling out words for certain actions just seems silly to me. But I guess it's too soon to judge. I'll be using camspace for now.
I listen to bands that don't even exist yet. ಠ_ಠ

....Who gives a **** **** which platform a game is on? A game is a game is a game no matter the platform be it, Xbox, Playstaion, Wii, PC, or even CD-I! Console debate is stupid and anyone who says this console is better is an ignorant moron.

That is, until you meet controller differences like Wii vs. PS360 vs. PC. I personally prefer shooters and RTS's on my PC.

Rapt0r wrote:Console debate is stupid and anyone who says this console is better is an ignorant moron.

Consoles are a huge investment for most people. Not everyone blows $1000+ for all 3 so they need to be able to say which console is better (to them). But yes, console debates are stupid. Mainly because they are always done amongst some illiterate retards who are biased, have no good information, never touched more than their one console, and have no hair on their sack.

The thing with criticism is that it needs to happen. If there were no criticism (of the constructive kind, which rarely happens with gaming) then nothing would change.

The interface does make a difference but it's a reletively small difference for the most part (I'm only referring to consoles). When it comes down to it, you should buy a console for what games you want to play, not because it's made by Microsoft or Sony.

Just so you know, all companies **** the consumers as much as they possibly can without losing customers so don't try to say Microsoft is evil or Sony **** on their consumer base. They all do it.
