Features & Graphics that FoFiX Misses from GH/RB Games

Postby kristijan_mkd » Thu May 28, 2009 5:00 am

Ok, here i will list the features we're missing, and i'll try to complete SOME of the missing graphics and concepts for the features i can help at. Some of them should be made by the theme owners.
Image
Missing Graphics:
1.Vocals, to make kind of similar images to GH3 graphics.
2.Bandstarmult, i think the new Guitar Heros have it.
Missing Features:
Can't think of one now.
Image
Missing Graphics:
1.The Real Lobby
2.Bandstarmult probably
3.Vocals, and a concept how they'll be done.
Missing Features:
1.Beginner mode

Spoiler:Beginner is a new difficulty introduced in Guitar Hero World Tour, brought back in Guitar Hero: Metallica, and expected to be on Guitar Hero Smash Hits. It is identical to Easy in speed and rhythm of notes, but it doesn't matter whether you press any fret buttons or which fret buttons you press; you only need to strum at the right times. There are also no sustains. The notes look similar to bass pedal notes and open bass notes, but are multicolored instead of purple. Star Power notes are white, identical to open bass note pull-offs on bass. Notes under Star Power are light blue. Overlapping Star Power notes are a shining light blue. This feature was not brought back in Guitar Hero: On Tour Decades and it is unknown if this difficulty will be Guitar Hero On Tour: Modern Hits.

2.Hmm, "Hot Start?"

Spoiler:Never letting the Rock Meter drop below a certain level or playing the first several notes of a song perfectly gives you "Hot Start" altough i can't remember if that gives bonus points.

3.Slap bass notes. FoFiX issue 255
4.Overlaping sustains FoFiX issue 254
5.Battle mode.

Spoiler:Their battle mode is different, with no attacks, more like Pro-Face-Off, but it has some graphics, meters and stuff that needs to be ripped and coded.

Image
Missing Graphics:
1.Tug of War [Done]
Missing Features:
1. Tug of war.

Spoiler:Tug of war is a multiplayer RB2 mode.
Players play the same instrument, but they can play it on different difficulty.
If one player has Overdrive/StarPower deployed while he doesn’t have notes, the drain
on his meter is paused.
The winner/leader cannot be based on score, since the two players can be on different
difficulties
It’s MAYBE based on notes hit and multiplayer through all the song.

2.HO/PO system. FoFiX issue 280

Spoiler:Custom HO/PO's, HO/PO chords and forced strums.

3.Setlist creation.

Spoiler:In RB2 u can select songs to play in a row, and if u are bored with one song you can pause it and skip to go to another song in the setlist..Cool ha?

Image
Missing Graphics:
It's early to mention them now. Sometimes later when game is out maybe.
Missing Features:
1.Party Play Mode...

Spoiler:Which allows for players to jump in into a band or drop out even in the middle of a song, and switch instruments or difficulty levels while playing. You press a button on the controller you connected and then you select your difficulty level.. [NO PAUSE FOR THE OTHER PLAYERS] and you jump right in. Or you can jump out of the song if you are bored playing.

2.RockFest Mode... [Contains more multiplayer modeds..]
2.1. Momentum Mode

Spoiler:If you miss 3 notes in a row your difficulty will jump down. If you hit 20 notes in a row your difficulty will jump up

2.2. Elimination Mode

Spoiler:During the song the worst player is dropped periodically.

2.3. Perfectionist Mode

Spoiler:Where only certain sections of a song count towards points.

2.4. Do-Or-Die Mode

Spoiler:Is a mod which forces a player to wait a brief time if they miss a note.

2.5. Streakers Mode

Spoiler:Rewards the player for long strings of consecutive notes.

3.Band Moments..

Spoiler:Something like , fire notes, if all of the players hit them they're rewarded with some fire effects and particles and of course band multiplayer.

4.Band Revival meter..

Spoiler:It will appear when a player fails out of the song, requiring the other band members to play well as a group together in order to bring the failed player back into the game.

In Guitar Hero World Tour:

- A 5 line drum includes the snare,hi-hat,the high tom, crash, and the low tom.
- Slider notes. We cant just slide through notes!
- Slider strum.
- Their band streak bonuses.
- Their band multiplier system.
- A LoL thing: an editor.! (EOF thank you!)

In Guitar Hero 3:

-The lightning in the side when star power is activated.(If it is a shader? fine ok its done)

Are we going and trying to make Guitar Hero 5? Because I think coding it would be easy to developers. Almost GH5 is the WHOLE FoFix. (Hope there is a 4 neck 1 vocals 5 player!)

When Slash wrote GHIII was not in the list, so he could've been asking if the missing GHIII and RB features were listed under GHWT and RB2.

Chill man.

Anyway, I think that Rock Band has some kind of option to hide the note streak counter.

Some of us do. And even if we don't, this is just a list of things from the game that are missing in FoFix.

Stop trying to act tight.

Tight? I hate GHWT's "innovations" and I think most of the respected forum would agree with me.

Anyway i think only missing features in the GH3 theme is the setlist. You can press yellow for the main setlist, blue for bonuses, and orange for DLC.(Anyway IDK if it is necessary but it is the coder decision)
GHWT setlist is straight-off and doesnt need button pushing to sort. But missing is the multiple song playing by selecting 6 songs to play all in all and it doesnt sort songs by name, artist, etc by pressing the whammy, it uses a fret.(IDK is it also available in RB2?)

Out of curiosity, what are the differences between GH 3 Face-Off mode and RB Tug-of-War (apart from graphics, obviously)?
They seem the same to me, but I must be honest and say I haven't played either much. If they are pretty similar / the same, then it's mainly a matter of graphics coding.
(Which is to say it's still missing from FoFiX and would be good to put in)

---- EDIT ----

Also, on the GH:WT "innovations" being crap, most of them I tend to agree, but if some people like them, then why not put them into FoFiX as options?
Personally I don't really care if a feature from RB/GH is in FoFiX, I like FoFiX being different. But for those that care, we should cater to those occasionally too.

RB Tugwar overdrive pauses the arrow movement if he doesnt have notes.

You hate more realistic drums, more realistic guitar feature that isn't even required, a feature that is in Rock Band, and copying a game the way we've copied others? Hmm, weird.

Plus, all the other "respected" forum members (which there's like 4 of, and you don't count as one of them [but then again, neither do I]) would feel mildly indifferent because hating things that are too complicated is like hating math because there are too many numbers.

I am not the only one liking Guitar Hero World Tour. I do like Rock Band even if I don't have it. And really like what game expert said, don't be tight. And not of the most respected forum wouldn't agree. You couldve get banned on the World Tour forums!!!!  but seriously, like what game you like, hate what game you hate, and don't share the games you rated badly.

Hey we should make a play multiple songs feature (depending when the coders want it).
