Re: Auto-difficulty notes changer - Don't know the right words
I don't think that I would use this, writing down a difficulty protocol that one can follow when making <expert/amazing difficulties would propbably be handy though, right now I think that most only have an idea of how to "dumb down" guitar tracks. But we've also got bass and drums.

It's not like I dislike sleeping, I really do like it to be honest. It's the whole wake up/go to sleep business I don't like.
Re: Auto-difficulty notes changer - Don't know the right words
Good news, just developed a small ruby on rails app to do this. It works using th BPM value. It uses the expert notes on xmid format and downgrade it to easy scaling it to 3 notes, reducing double notes to single and at most 1 note per BPM space... medium is the same but preserving double notes and 4 notes instead of 3.Hard is with all the notes and the space between notes is at least BPM/2
The code is extremely ugly, and uses a database to hold the info, so it consumes a lot of resources. I hope to work on the code soon and upload it on www.foflatino.net soon where i plan to offer the service once the code has been revised. If someone needs the code, have some ideas on improving the resulting notes, or want to beta test it, send me a PM or let me a post in www.foflatino.net. I'll gladly process your songs while i don't release the full app.

Great stuff.
Now, does it preserve all notes with tails longer than an 8th note? The problem with the scorehero program is that it gor rid of long sustains when it shouldn't have. Also, long series of fast notes (i.e. 32nds, 24ths), in easy difficulty, can be merged into one long sustain. Anyone else got any thoughts? I don't know how easy these rules would be to implement, but I know it's possible, if time consuming.

looking at this idea, if there was a way to use the Quantise program from Cubase... that would space out the notes to a set tempo, making the game easier from the expert fretting.
i had a good idea!!!

Now Mudkip Flavour!

You guys... DO realise that Scorehero've already covered this... at least, if you're a dB fretter/know how to convert .chart files.

I do realise. But ACE frankly sucks. It removes sustains etc...I essentially suggested things that ACE fails at be fixed.
