Let's get some specs on you system. I have 7, and have been running FoFix pretty well for about a month. The only major trouble I had at first was needing to roll back my graphics drivers.

7 does update for you. In fact, it installed some drivers that a fresh XP install would miss. Trouble is, it did too good of a job. The newest graphics drivers would not let me run any games (FoF, Tribes 2, etc.). I had to use Intel's update page to find the appropriate drivers, roll them back, and I was money.
Re: Lag on Windows 7
I had exactly the same problem on windows 7 with my GMA 950. Basically the drivers it installed from device manager had terrible OpenGL performance. Installing the latest Vista drivers in compatibility mode sorted it :) However, don't ever use XP drivers (I learnt that the hard way :P )

Re: Lag on Windows 7
Try installing the Vista drivers for your video card.
I administer a lab of computers with identical hardware, some of which are running Vista, and some of which are running 7, with only stock drivers on each. I tried running FoFiX on some Vista machines and some 7 machines, and under Vista, FoFiX works nicely, while under 7, FoFiX lags horribly, but Direct3D-based games work just fine. Many of the stock video drivers in 7, which otherwise work, appear to have great trouble with OpenGL.
Though I was using FoFiX, I'm sure the same would have happened no matter what mod I tried.

Re: Lag on Windows 7
where can I dowload that driver ?? plese give the link, Iam afarid download wrong driver ...

Re: Lag on Windows 7
The driver(s) you need depend on which video card you have in your computer. There's a nice guide on how to find, download, and update your drivers here. Just ignore the parts that say things about Tribal Trouble, that's specific for a different game.
