heh nice to see that someone gave jurgen some more logic, nice to see he goes for some BRE highway lanes, btw that was kinda funny to see, but not the BRE itself

now i have one tiny request for jurgen

Can someone Please make his Overdrive fire off when its full? or make it when its 1/2 full? i mean if we're going to cheat we should at least have some competition

I'm not sure if this is something that's very known. I was trying out the bre the other day, and I know for certain that there were playable notes under it as well (played the song before bre was added). In any case I held down a fret, strummed like crazy and noticed that "hits" were made on the other lanes. Looked just like a normal note being hit exxept for that fact that the note itself was not there (under the bre lanes :p).

Just a little heads up, haven't been bothered to confirm it again (doing stuff on a black and white monitor with cropped sides is VERY tiresome), hopefully someone else will take a look at it.

UH OH!
Using new alpha and guess what freezes up now when finished a song
and I press continue
I've tryed changing settings, changing themes and all sorts of things but I still haven't
found the root of the problem! I'll keep searching but I doubt I'll find whats wrong
I have no idea where the error log is... I open fofix up through cmd so that would help a ton!

Speaking of cheating with Jurgen... There should probably be some logic in there for not cheating if Jurgen is enabled on Player 2 and I am playing single player.

IINM you can already control Jurgen's overdrive using P2 controls (if Jurgen is set to P2, of course; if he's P1 then the P1 key for Overdrive should work).
Doesn't replace a real AI overdrive, but in the meantime...

BlackJack, that may not be a good idea. New error traceback and logging make FoFiX MUCH easier to debug and work with. A small side effect appears to be that certain errors reoccur and endlessly write to the log, and some old errors that only popped up a messagebox now cause the game to hang. The fact remains that they are still errors, and need to be taken care of. I have no plans to work on regressing this behavior, as the benefits it brings to the debugging table are invaluable.
Of course, the way it behaves now (i.e. not making a message box pop up) is better, I agree. My main concern was that no error would show in the log anymore (and that the old error was not very user-friendly), but since you say this will be taken care of, I have nothing more to say (besides thanks, once again, for your great work :) ).

A question I always forget to ask, about the GH3 theme (could also apply to other themes as well, I guess) : is the maximum level for the (in game) note counter supposed to be 999? It currently resets to 000 instead of adding a new square to display 1000 (same goes for 1999, etc), and I wanted to know if it was mimicking the original behavior.

Now that I disabled Jurgen - for those that noticed: Crash on finishing a song without cheating is fixed in r831.

The fact it lasted this long may say something about how we play when we code...

Not during rb coop, where you can benefit from the other player.

Though that would be a multiplayer mode, not a single player one...

Sorry, when you mentioned jurgen on player 2, I assumed it was multiplayer.

I read a few posts back that a possibly-needed fix could be to delete all cache files. I know MFH gave a simple batch file to do that, but waiting for cache regeneration during play can take quite a long time. Could there be a feature implemented that recursively goes through the folders at the root of the song directory and cache the listing information all at once? That way somebody could let it run for 15+ minutes and then come back when it's done. Also, it might be good to put version information into the cache, so that future versions of FoFiX will replace it if necessary (if that's not already implemented).

Same story here, BRE works lile it`s supposed to only in Training. Everything else is wonderful, this mod rules :)

Said feature is essentially what the game is already doing as you enter each folder with no cache.

The cache does have a versioned format in case I ever have some compelling reason to change the caching format. The format version can be extracted by executing the query "SELECT value FROM config WHERE key = 'version'" against it (it's a SQLite database), and I'm not going to change that table in an incompatible way such that that check fails.

I've searched and can't find an answer, so sorry if this has been covered.

I know how to add a background picture to individual songs, but is there a way to add multiple pictures, and better yet, is there a way to make them appear in a specific order and at specific times during the song?
I'm no expert, but I thought there would be a way similar to the lyrics that appear at the bottom of the screen, only instead of making lyrics appear, it makes a new background appear, am I hoping for too much?

Thanks for any feedback here, I'd like to add background pictures to my songs from now on, so I'll take all the help I can get.
