Personally im going to use a rock band guitar casue i hate how loud guitar hero buttons are. I dont even play gh 2/3 much anymore casue im sick of *clickclikclikclickclikclick*. Ive heard from friends they just plug in and need an easy to find driver. Plus they dont look as much like a toy like the guitar hero ones.

Hi, I hope you can help.

This may have been answered before and believe me I have trawled for hours for an answer on this.

I have GH3, Aerosmith and FoF installed. I am using an Xplorer wired usb. No issues with it only that I'm a gadget freak and want ot go wireless ( I know you will tell me no don't do it).

What I would like is a simple answer to the following:

1. Will the Xbox Guitar Hero World Tour controller work on all of the above games? Yes it will out of the box or no you will need a receiver?.

2. Will the PS3 Guitar Hero World Tour controller work out of the box or do I need an adapter?. Will I have to configure the keys or run any software?.

3. Will any PS2 Guitar Hero wireless controller work? do I need an adapter?. I have a bluetooth dongle that I use to connect my phone to PC. Again will I need to run any software

I really like the look of the GHWT controller and they say it's bigger. I know it has issues but beleive me I am a casual player so it won't be thrashed, unless I get that angry because I can't complete All The Young Dudes on easy and decide to smash it on the floor

So many questions I know sorry about that but I have been looking now since before the release of GHWT

Thanks and I will appreaciate any help you can give an old rocker!

gotenks_insane wrote:5º If you had the wireless PS2 Guitar (my model is the Les Paul Gibson from GH3) you only need the PS2 to USB adaptor. I have it and the only problem is that the whamy bar doesn't work. If I make the whamy work, the other controls turns unstable so I'm f*cked xDxD. Even I can't use the whamy bar, the controls are good :D and thanks to the guitar and alarian mod I can complete Through The Fire And Flames xD I bought the guitar for 34€ (from Korea), around 50$, only the guitar (in Spanish stores, here in Huelva, you have to buy the complete kit: Guitar and Game for 99€ (too much dolars xD)) so, compared to the original price, my guitar is cheap xD

Does this really work? I've been thinking about buying the new Guitar Hero World Tour game for my Playstation 2 (with the new guitar). But I have no idea if the guitar would work in my computer for Frets on Fire. It's a wireless as far as I know and if it's wireless, how would I connect it to the PS2 to USB adaptor? The one I'm considering is this adapter and I only want to buy the game if I'll be able to use it for Frets on Fire through some adapter as well... Please let me know. :P

I dont know the answers to all of your questions, but I do know a few, here we go:

3. Yes you need an adapter, and yes any PS2 guitar will work. You need a PS2 to USB adapter, cost its less than $10, or if your pc has bluetooth then you can use the dongle but that dongle must have an adapter for the ps2 input

1. I have an xplorer 360 and it does work out of the box with FoF, so maybe that one would work too, check the guitar specs, they should state the games that you can play with it.

---- EDIT ----

Is it possible to make the wammy bar work for FoF??? I have an xplorer 360, how is this done? thanks in advance

i have the RB wireless guitar for wii that i use it works great ingame ,but i just hate the strummer
if i get the ps3 les paul, will it be as easy to use in FOF as the rb guitar? because it comes with the usb reciever just like the RB one so id think so...
also i saw like 6 ps3 les pauls on ebay for like 18-25$ so thats another reason im considering it

select killswitch and when it says to press a button, push the whammy down
There is no "whammy" like there is in gh, in fof yet
the killswitch is the closest thing we can get for now

Ok since the mayority of people here replied that the les paul is of bad quality, I have changed my mind, that SG guitar looks really nice ans it costs a fraction of the les paul price ($20 from redoctane site), and the explorer one is wired and I dont want to get a wired one.

This one looks pretty good

Or this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-3-Fro ... _rhf_p_t_3

and I read a review about this one saying that it was pretty good (IGN review).

That last one (http://www.theantcommandos.com/) is what I have. I love it in every aspect. The V shape took a couple days of getting used to, as well as the wide spacing between the frets. But, now I play better than I ever used to (not because of the guitar, but practice). I love the fact it has the RB solo buttons is nice (I have a glovepie script I sometimes use that makes them work like in RB in FoF I'll be posting later). By the way, if you do get that guitar, make sure to set it to Rock Band PS3, otherwise the tilt and whammy doesn't work (complete plug and play otherwise).

I actually help my friend set his guitar up. He has this EXACT guitar and its awesome! Not so sure about star power and that though I don't think the lift works. But it comes with a USB attachment that looks like a pick and you plug it in your comp and you're ready to go!
