I put sonic because it hasn't been overhyped, there aren't 90 million party games and spinoffs of it (except the wii, but I blame that on nintendo and thus mario), Halo is mad fun but not the best game ever, Guitar hero is a definite no because it's just imitating something else, Doom is ehhh, Pacman... pacman is just fun. It never gets old but I don't think it's legendary, cause really, how many ways can ghosts catch you? And I guess that applies to space invaders, too. Finally, the prince of persia trilogy was very good, but the original and 3D kind of blew, so yeah... and I realize that some of these arguments can be used on sonic, but there's just something about the 2 sonic adventures that keep me replaying them countless times, and occasionally popping in the originals on my genesis. Never really gets old

My heart warms with the nostalgic memory of playing Super Mario 64.

Hey man... This thread is stupid. Obviously, we can't say what game will be legendary between Mario, Sonic, Doom, PacMan, Prince of Persia... All of these game ARE legends.
I mean, a good gamer will always have play at least at one game of those series. If you never played PacMan, you're not a PGM, it's obvious.

I voted Mario because it's the most known, but still.

And where are Zelda? Age of Empires? StarCraft? Diablo? Monkey Island? Tomb Raider? Need for Speed? Rayman (lol)? Final Fantasy?

I can say a lot more...
The "LEGENDARY" game can't exist, but there are a lots of series which could pretend to be in the "Legend Temple of Video Games".

FF7 anyone? IMHO it's a tie between FF7 and OoT, and Zelda is the only one on there so...

EDIT:Wait, WTF?!?!?!? NO ZELDA???????!!!

I lol'd at Halo.

You all are overlooking possibly the most most legendary game of all time.

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

Please gouge their eyes out with a rusty spoon. They don't deserve them anymore.

Like, really.
