I got my Wii guitar set up using Ubuntu 8.04 and the cwiid driver, but when I play Frets On Fire using it, the guitar responds very slowly. Sometimes the game will register that I'm still holding down a note, when I'm not, and sometimes when I strum it will strum about 2 seconds after the note already passed. Is there any way to fix this?
I'm running LINUX. If I ask a question, do not post WINDOWS instructions. Thank you.

I don't care if it's called FoFiX now, I prefer Alarian. It's more professional and way easier to type.

There have got to be some Ubuntu users who have a solution to my problem. I read that it's possible to get it set up flawlessly with WMD, but the site that hosts it is currently down. If someone could provide a mirror and detailed instructions for installing it, that would be really nice..

Why do you use Ubuntu? Use GlovePIE, it works perfectly with a good script. Also make sure your keys are
properly mapped and close all of the running background programs. Also, Frets On Fire tends to lag for the
first minutes after opening it, so you might need to wait. And if you have a dual-core processor, open up the
task manager and set FoF's affinity to CPU 1, and Ubuntu's to CPU 2. And set the priority higher on both programs (Real-time if possible).

Ubuntu is an operating system. GlovePIE is for Windows, which I don't use anymore.

Surely there must be a system that can map the keys for a Ubuntu distribution. Have you tried Googling it? Or maybe searching on these forums? Just sounds like you have a sync problem between the Wii guitar and your OS.

EDIT : Just realised you have the old graphics card as well, maybe its something to do with that as well? Try using a USB keyboard, see if it makes a difference.

There is a driver (WMD) that is supposed to make it run perfectly if you have it configured correctly, but, the site is conveniently down (forthewiin.org). I've tried getting it from other places, but cannot figure out for the life of me how to get it set up.
