So, here is my first mod. I got the idea for it earlier today and then started working on it tirelessly... And now it's done!
Comments and criticism are welcome.

I don't have screenshots of it (since I don't know how to take them and insert in my post - sry). But I still recommend giving it a download since atleast I think it's pretty good. I might also get some screenshots of it later.

So here's the link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/20687805/Kopio_gebbss_mod.zip.html

And btw, I will not be able to answer your comments until next monday since I'm gonna be on holiday. So don't expect a quick reply from me.
Enjoy!

First off, congratulations on your first mod.
Second off, I like the title screen.

And that's were it ends. The cassette screen was neat, and was actually not too bad. The gameplay screen on the other and, hurts. The moving notes thing is clever but it doesn't add any enjoyment when your eyes hurt from trying to play with this mod on. Maybe it's just me, but the all white screen for a few minutes with bright multiplier colors flashing periodically gives me a headache. The +4x white flash thing makes notes that much harder to precisely hit when the screen blanks for a half second. It's a nice mod on the outside, and I liked the main screen music for the 6 seconds I stayed on that screen. But the fretboard is A) non-exsistant and B) annoying. I like the artsyle, but some more, not-blinding colors would have been nice.

Have a nice day! :)

Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

add screenshots, I won't be the first to tell that no screenshot = usually no download.

I'm afraid I'm in agreement here. I like to see what I'm downloading first. :p
Its just like life. Quite interesting in parts, but no substitute for the real thing.

It's white, very very white. If you don't like brightness you wont like this mod.

I was very close to not dl'ing it b/c of no screenshots. I was even closer when I saw it was on rapidshare.

But I did, and now I'm gonna go ride my bike.

Thanks for the comments. I'll keep them in mind next time I do a mod.

I should've mentioned this in my first post but I forgot and now the forum won't let me edit my post for some reason:
When using my mod, first go to settings>video settings and turn flame2 into static. Otherwise the second flame will not show on the screen.

Once again, I couldn't edit my post. But anyway, here's a download link for megaupload:
http://www.megaupload.com/fi/?d=E7AFR5HR

I would have originally put the file on this site but yestearday megaupload was messed up so I couldn't upload it there.

I'm off! See you all next monday!

umm......i guess al i can say is....good try? i mean, the idea is great and all, but its way too bright, reminds me of doodles on notebook paper. you should add colors, its too bland. i mean, its not that hard to open up notebad and put in the color you want....also, i wasnt realling feeling the musical notes for the background. they werent very "hard rock", which i know is what you were trying to pull off....

When making a mod, you should ask yourself "Why <Mod Theme>? Why not <Random Generic Theme>?" If you can answer your question, you have a good (maybe) mod. Ask yourself the question 0.o

I had that idea from that some post actually, but I'm too busy to do it.
Go for it!

Yeah well the original idea was to kind of resemble doodles on notebook paper. That's why it was so eyedazzleingly (i'm good at spelling lol) white. It didn't turn out quite the way I had imagined it though.
As for your question yogsothoth, sorry, I'm just too stupid to answer it (maybe I'd better start paying attention in school)
