not sure if this idea has been brought up yet or not. I like to keep my songs in the order they are in the original games as I'm sure most people do. So to help with this, I usually have to add a number in front of the name of the song in the song.ini. My thought on this is since FOF scans the directory already to read the ini's before displaying the Song List, could we not make an entry in the ini so that it looks something like this...

Code: Select all

[song]
name = Enter Sandman
artist = Metallica
year = 1991
count = 4
delay = 0
frets = Puppetz :)
scores =
scores_ext =
track_id = rb_8.3
unlock_id = game_t8
unlock_require = game_t7e
unlock_text = Complete The Tier 7 Encore to unlock.

Of course every song would need a track_id assigned to it. But once the songs are assigned a track_id, you simply start up FoF, go to options, Song List Settings, and set Sort Order to "Track ID"

I would think all you would need to do is duplicate the code for the sort by name code but change the "name" lookup to "track_id" This would have the same automatically put the songs in the preferred Song List order without having to display a number next to the name of the song in the Song List. I'm sure it is a little more involved than that. I may take a look tomorrow if I can find the current place that the sort by functions are stored.

Is this a possibility?

do they keep the DLC sections in an order other than alphabetical? I tend to keep mine grouped in packs and organized by release date, but that's just me :)

The DLC is untouched, you can keep them in separate folders or just have them in the main folder, whatever you wish.

I have a friend that I play 2 player through the tv and we have a blast. Would it be possible to have an option to turn failing "off" for 2 player. I am a bit more advanced than my mate but it would be good to both finish a song so he gets to play the whole thing through... anyone else have the same problem?

Holy sh..!

The thought of playing FoF MFH-A and being able to gain achievements just blew my mind. I want it soo bad.

Here are a few ideas (taken from RB2 actual ahievements list) that make sense in FoF:

* "Solid Gold, Baby!" - Gold star any song. - 25 points
* "Flawless Fretwork" - 100% a song on Expert guitar. - 25 points
* "Flawless Drumming" - 100% a song on Expert drums. - 25 points
* "Flawless Groove" - 100% in a song on Expert Bass. - 25 points
* "Flawless Guitar Solo" - 100% guitar solo on Expert. - 20 points
* "The Bachman-Turner Award" - Maintain deployed Overdrive for 90 seconds. - 25 points

Of course those are only Expert versions. We may have similar Medium/Hard achievements.

Not that I will get any of those any time soon even if they were implemented (my playing skills are too lousy). But it would be totally great to have them. A nice thing to brag about with fellow players.

as the career unlock code is dependant on the high scores, at least partially--- i think
In early code versions, it was, but I wanted you to be able to get high scores in quick play without interfering with career mode, so I took out all the highscore dependencies and used the "unlock_completed" setting.

Memes are so funny hahaha I'm splitting with laughter I can't control this laughter at this meme which uses a word incorrectly oh hahaha

:glare:

That was EPIC.

My songs. All made in EOF, beat-synced and note-synced, not very many missed notes.

Delirious? - Investigate (Live)

Suggestion: Bass with bass groove and overdrive on goes up to x12, amirite? So what if we increase the avg multiplier cut-off for the stars? And also make it so that these higher cut-offs will only take effect when bass groove is on. I don't have any suggestions for the specific cut-offs tho.

The problem with achievements is that you can't have any control over them. On a regular game the developpers know what song are Expert songs and so on, but on FoF anyone can have his own vision of what "Expert" looks like. Same thing for any song downloadable.
Les pas des soldats
Avançant en chœur ;
Sans peur, ni émoi -
Juste, la fureur.
