A strong internet connection is essential. At least 54 mb/ps is needed to get a decent speed.
Don't get too excited yet, the online multiplayer isn't perfect!
Using logmein(among other programs, I'll get into later) jrdnxxhero and I remotely controlled the other's computer and allowed for us both to play on the same computer. Using this method, we were able to *successfully* play multiplayer, with the only real problem being lag. Of course there are other issues, like security. Remote PC controlling programs gives one user complete control over the other's PC, so trust is obviously a factor in this.
I have made a video with one of our more successful programs, ShowmyPC: http://youtube.com/watch?v=cDCKNbaBXlw
You can tell the lag is obviously pretty bad. Since then, jrdnxxhero and I have tried other programs and found more successful results. With my hosting with Teamview and jrdnxxhero joining, it was a pretty decent speed and actually playable. Sometimes you can't hear any sounds, most of the remote control programs have it turned off by default, all you have to do is turn it on.
So basically we remotely control someone else's PC, where we can both control it. Then we can both play together on the same PC, pretty simple. If you want to help, go out and find as many remote PC control programs you can. Try using Hamachi, try using different browsers, try ANYTHING. Some programs are more successful than others. If you do test a program, please post your results here and I will update the list of programs already tested so that we don't have a bunch of people trying the same programs over and over.
Please try to be as detailed as possible. Some programs may work better on XP than mac or better on windows 98 etc. So please post some of your more important hardware specs.
I am running Windows XP with 2 gigs of ram, on DSL connection.
Jrdnxxhero is running a pc with 1 gig of ram also on DSL.
List of programs already used:
Note: Each connection was better when I hosted and jrdnxxhero controlled my PC, as he was on a wireless internet connection.
Logmein: Pretty terrible lag.
Yuuguu: Lags just about as bad as Logmein. Also screws up the audio for the PC being controlled
Showmydesktop(shown in video): Pretty decent speed (jrdnxxhero controlling my PC got much less lag than me) Also screws up the audio.
Teamview(using Remote Support): Best so far. Decent enough speed to actually be playable, sound does not screw up on the controlled PC. But the keys seem to be unresponsive in-game.
Mikogo: Too laggy to play FoF with. A little worse than showmypc.

Someone should build a network for this, so instead of one player, reaching over to the other player's computer,
they meet in the middle = LESS LAG!

1st off people. Don't start a thread asking for others ID and Password ecause You Don't Know What They'll Do To Your Computer.
Next This is Laggy (Still playable), but its not perfect yet.
P.S. If you have tried anymore programs, tke a video of it on the lagging side and post it here. And Laspg, With this software there is no meeting in the middle, you go all the way to the others PC. and keep TeamViewer Open At All Times!!
EDIT:
ANNOUNCEMENT-
We need more testers, pm me if you wanna test it.

Oh well, nice things I've seen here but won't try it, since it makes the PC so vulnerable
Well all you have to do is hide your desktop icons and folders inside lets say "My Documents" and they can't access them. Or just disconnect them when they start to rome
