How did 8x score multiplyrs come about in fof? - I thought it was against the religion...

There was a period of time a couple months back when some of the mods were made that actually added score multipliers to the game (x2, x4 x6, x8) during jurgen power (if its still called 'jurgen power')

How did this ever come about? I remember talking about this when it was not reality and it seemed as if the idea was taboo because of the internet scores and that everyone had to be equal.

What was the changing point?
Who was the rebel that challenged the system?
Has he been shuned, or is he now considered a legend?

Just curious to how it evolved into what it is now...

so that means the multiplyed actually adds the score? I usually just play for fun, not for scores, but now there's legit multipliers, i might get more serious about my SP timing

Actually these mods are not really 'allowed' In fact I'm probably going to be purging scores from the world charts soon that use them. I believe these were originally put in around the time worldrave was doing his ghiii mod.

Allowed? Is this just a thought or a feeling on the topic, or is there written law that says "There shall be no points over 4x?"

How do you plan to police the world charts?
Is there a way to tell the difference?
Are these mods considered a slap in the face around here or have they been welcomed?

Cant there be two world charts.. one for classic mode and one for mods? Nah.. I suppose things would have to be rewritten for something like this to work...

Well, UC had it coded in a way that if you used jurgen power, your scores could not be uploaded. Somehow this code just disappered along the long like of newer mods.

Alarian banned it too, but one of myfingershurt's hotfixes got rid of that.

I was under the impression that worldcharts were what vanilla uploaded to, Dirva's charts were what those of who use SP/Multipliers get up'd to. There is a toggle for SP or multiplier or something (phases?) and maybe that also toggles which charts to up to.
