For Frets on Fire 1.1

Here's a new version of the compilation, with new meters! They are just slightly modified worldrave GH2 meters. This is pretty much just for Ateshu because he's apparently the only one who leaves any (constructive) feedback for my stuff! I also put "his" setlist screen back into the GH3 mod. Blah! Ok so the GH2 mod folder issues have been smoothed over, and the proper gh3 default neck back in the folder.... Not to much else. I'm pulling all the screens with the old meters and might upload some later....

What I don't like:
The green score color. If you know how to change this please let me know!

What it includes:
My GH Mod
My GH2 Mod
My GH3 Mod

What's New/What I did:
for GH3 mod
-added DS~ AWESOME GH3 stage
-fixed lights (standalone version only)
-changed stars
-added GH3 necks with cool bars and tracks (already on the neck)
GH and GH2 Mod
-Slightly modded WorldRave GH2 Meters
-used themed stages, Red Octane for GH and Vans Warped Tour for GH2
-New menus and u/i screens
-Font originally used in my first GH3 mod, smackattack, is back, jack!

Screens:

Image
GH Menu

Image
GH Setlist

Image
difficulty select

Image
GH Newspaper & Stars

GH2 Menu

GH2 Setlist

GH2 Difficulty Select

The standalone verison has my GH/GH2 rockmeters built in, but the /mod folders will still work with worldrave's mod if you copy and paste them in.

Standalone (with rockmeters)
Dævid's Compilation

Mod Folders (for non worldrave/coffee versions of 1.1. Uses whatever meters you have installed on that mod, or none if you don't have any. Most Compatable)
/mod folder bundle

Hopefully will have coffee mod version for 1.1 tomorrow

n00b Notes:
FOR THE /MOD FOLDER(s) ONLY:

Code: Select all

TURNING YOUR BARS AND TRACKS OFF
If your going to use my necks (And one comes preinstalled in the mod folder) they absolutlely look best with bars and tracks OFF.  The reason for this is because the "bars" and "tracks" are on the neck itself.  Please please turn them off for best effect.

To do this:  open up your config settings (fretsonfire.ini) located in the frets on fire folder that has your fretsonfire.exe.  Scroll down to where it says [Theme], then look for:

[Theme]
bars_color = #FF0000
trackscolor = #FFFFFF

erase everything after the # sign and instead type off

[Theme]
bars_color = off
trackscolor = off

Save!!!!

Code: Select all

TO SWITCH NECKS:
delete the neck.png in the data folder
go to /mods/daevids gh/gh1 necks (or gh2/gh2 necks etc.)
find the neck you want
copy
go back to the data folder
paste
rename as neck.png

Looks really awesome. :)
Both the mods. :)

But the rockmeters kinda suck. :(
Can't you use worldrave's GH2 rockmeter? :)

I didn't know worldrave had GH2 rockmeters.... I personally think the rockmeters are pretty similar to GH/GH2 which is what I was going for. It wouldve been a lot easier just to use his GH3 rockmeters, but that's not what they look like in GH/GH2. What's wrong with them? just ugly and pixely or non functional? I tried to make them as realistic as possible.. :(

Well there's nothing wring with your meters, and I guess it's just a matter of opinion, but I just like his a bit better. ;)

Here's the link to his rockmeters.

but that's just the rockmeters from a Guitar Zero GH2 Mod.... (-edit- no theye are not not -edit-) And the multiplier colors are incorrect. (-edit- in the verison posted -edit-)

Well incorrect for Guitar Hero.

Plus I couldn't have a non green score... then the GH3 mod would be messed up. I guess I compromised on some things to try and make it compatable for my compilation. If I was releasing each mod as a standalone I could probably get the details down better but I thought it was a pretty good representation of GH/GH2 meters. And besides ateshu why don't you just download the /mods folder only and play it in that version!

I thought worldrave made it???
Oh well, I guess opinions are just opinions, I like worldrave's rockmeters (if he made them) better than yours, but the rest of your mod is still really awesome. :;):

well at least the streak lights are right on my fugly meters :)

And I shouldn't say that they are "just" GZ meters he still had to do all the imaging and refiguring and converting and whatnot but I believe that the base images he used (as I did also) were from the Guitar Zero GH2 mod (-edit- THEY ARE NOT GZ2 METERS! I am just dumb -edit-) I just used an edited Crazy.neo's scoreamp for my scoremeter because it just looks good, I just wanted a rockmeter to match it and GH

-Edit- Those Are worldrave's own meter's not from GZ that comment was made based on screenshots (boy did I feel dumb after d/ling it) -Edit-

I'd like to mention that the 'guitar hero 2 meter mod' i made was NOT taken from GZ mod of any sort. I did actually make those myself, and was the 1st mod for FoF to feature 2 meters, as i worked together with Hering to add graphic placement support to his mod to allow me to be able to do a 2nd separate meter. And when RF added dots to his in the left meter, afterwards i also updated mine and changed the left meter squares to the dots/lights and released it as an update. But all the artwork i did all myself from high quality shots i grabbed, and edited from that point. Also, the colors match the GH2 i got for ps2.

This mod was a decent attempt, but I'd much rather use ds~'s Coffee Mod v2

yeah sorry worldrave that comment was made before I downloaded the mod, based of the screenshots. I'm editing in a correction.

Lol yeah so would I, these mods were (mostly) done before the version 2.0 of the UC mod came out, and I almost didn't release them at all (I made them mostly for myself because I was getting sick of all the GH3 stuff, which isn't even my favorite Guitar Hero) but since Ateshu showed some interest (glares @ Ateshu) I figured I would post them. Starting to wish I wouldn't have...

Also redoing the meters...... Based on Worldraves GH2 Meters....

Things to be done before I'm done making any GH Related mods:
Port this comp to coffee's mod for 1.1
Port this comp to coffee's mod for 1.2
Port this comp to 1.2

Awesome, thanks for the updating the meters and fixing the multiplier lights. :)
*downloading (again)*

I agree on that you've said about stopping with GH related mods, there are already way to much of them, I will download Ds~ his new patch, and I love your GH and GH2 mods (finally something else than GH3), but enough is enough. :;):

However, I would find it a shame if you would stop modding.
You're a great modder with some reall photoshop talents so I think you will be able to make plenty of other awesome mods. :)

oh I'm still going to make some mods..... Just not GH/RB themed. I need to get with some good fretters cause I want to make at least one band themed mod (sublime) but there is like a shameful lack of sublime songs!!!! SO I want to make sure that I package the mod with at least 5 or 6 sublime songs and whatnot. I also want to do a Dr. Pepper mod. I dont know when I'm finished with my coffee mod ports (hopefully soon) I'm gonna start a thread for themed mod suggestions/contributions
