Light Graphics V2 - Remastered
This topic is 16 years and 1 month old. Instead of replying, please begin a new topic, or search for another related topic that may be more suitable.
Main Idea:
So lemme' break it down for you guys. This mod is upgrade of the included "Light Theme" Mods that usually come with FoF. This newer version still has everything from the original FoF, but they've been mostly replaced with better looking and lower file-sized copies; making the game run at an amazingly fluid FPS.
More Info:
What I have done is given it a better looking make-over while lowering the original file size (and still maintaining the blazing speeds) by retracing things in Flash and compressing the PNGs in Paint.Net (a Windows only program). ** I also changed some of the sounds because before they felt too loud.
Specifications:
This mod is made for version 1.2.5, but you can use it on 1.1 perfectly fine.
Download:
VERSION 2.0 (NEWEST):
[MEDIA FIRE]
Previous Versions:
[Version 1.0] and [Version 1.2]
Screenshots:
How-To:
1) Download the mod.
2) Open the ZIP.
3) Place the "Theme - Light Graphics" folder that's found in the ZIP into the mods folder found in the FoF Data folder.
4) Run FoF.
5) Go to settings, then to game settings and finally to mod settings.
6) Scroll through the mods till you reach the one called "Theme - Light Graphics".
7) Turn on the mod.
Scroll down further till you see a button that says "Apply New Settings".
9) Press enter, you are good to go.

Okay, V2.2 is coming soon. This has redone the graphics so that they look better than normal but still run smoothly. So much has changed and I like to say it is very pretty when you play. If also fixes:
- The booming loud sound effects
- HO/PO noticablity
- Position of keyboard (PNG)
- Loading (has the loading angles from GH)
Will post in 2 days.

I don't see how something that looks so graphic heavy be a light mod, I mean it's light graphics with the noob keys and Fozz note's, the notes are around 90kb each, 200+polygons! You could make it go faster by replacing the keyboard with a blank pic, same goes for the background flames.

1) The notes don't come with the mod (so it can be universal).
2) Most of everything is smoother and don't have alot of random junk floating around.
3) Most items are smaller than usual (file size wise).

Hello!? I've spent about a month of testing this; modifying every little last kilobyte and no one responds?

I just downloaded version 2.0 (haven't tried any of the other versions). I like the look, I think the color scheme is more appealing than the regular FOF colors. The fonts are nice, too.
There are only 2 things I don't like about this mod. The HOPO color is red and the "in.ogg" sound is too quiet compared to the rest of the sounds. But I fixed these things myself and now it is perfect.
Thanks for this, it is the first mod I have actually kept.

Well you can say the same about mine, I spent a couple days on mine (3 to be precise) and I only got 10 replies (4 being by me) but oh well.
Yours does look nicer, mine is just a step up from n00b mod and uses png's instead of svg's, I suggest you do that for the mascot, svg's take more system resources so if you want the title screen to go faster, I would try to substitute as many as I could throughout the whole mod with png's but still keep the look so it retains its style.
