Ughh!!! This doesn't work in Vista!!! Is there a work around? I tried changing the compatibility mode, but it still didnt work, says it can't find MSVCP71.dll

If this isn't compatible on Vista, can I just modify the files on my laptop, then send them over? If so what files would I be sending over and what not? Thanx!

i hate to tell you this, but that's a problem with your computer, not vista. i've got vista and it works. i do seem to remember another game or something that had that problem. i'll go see what i can dig up for you.

no, that's not it. try downloading the newest .net framework from microsoft - apparently that fixes the problem with other programs...

Trying that right now...I hate how microsoft makes the thing you download another thing that downloads the installer. What is the point in that? Anyway, ill let you know in a moment if it worked...

Please just 'edit' your posts if you are the last poster - instead of doing an additional 'reply'.

Wow, your not very helpful on either forums...I posted a second time to let people know that the .net frameworks don't fix the problem I am experiencing that way others with the same problem can know. Sorry I didn't use your sacred "edit" button, you don't have to go all internet police on us *******.

My bad, sorry im a little dick-ish right now. I was really excited to see something like this released, and then it not work on my computer mad me pissed.

I have been looking up the problem else where and it seems that MSVCR71.dll (the file that can't be found even though its there) contains standard C library functions and is part of the Microsoft C Runtime Library. Im going to try reinstalling it to see if that fixes the problem, or updating it...

EDIT: turns out it wasn't MSVCR71.dll, it was MSVCP71.dll...I don't even have that file...

EDIT 2: FIXED!!!!!! The file didn't even come in the .zip and Vista started complainging about it...if you have the same problem you can download MSVCP71.dll from here

Once again, im sorry I was a ****, and I probably should have taken a second look at it :p

apology accepted.

here's a little tip for next time: anytime you post on a forum (especially if you're ticked or excited) always read through your post before you post it (or immediately afterwards...) and make sure it's something you really want to post.

also, glad you got it working :;):

Yes, good to hear you got it working.
You might want to go back over to scorehero and post your findings as other people are reporting the same issue (since your last post over there)

This thing is not very noob friendly... I cannot figure out what im doing or even where to start doing something. I have downloaded this program but do I insert just normal songs? like the ones I would play to listen to through windows media player for the guitar track?
