I've got a Squier Strat, but it's unfortunately at my old house. :(

Gonna buy one of those... 300€ :(

do you have a local music store? if you do, see if they have used guitars. i got mine used fairly cheap...

I got a music store, but they only have used acoustics... I could buy one, but I don't know how to play guitar, but if I start with the hardest I might bet better at it.... :;):

A little offtopic:

I would like to buy a guitar and learn to play.

I am thinking about something cheap and good for begginers. I was talking with some experts and they advice me to buy Cort x2 (I prefer metal). It costs like 200$ (+100$ other costs ;p). But my question is - it it better to buy cheaper guitar (like fender strato) or wait a lil' longer and take Cort? Or perhaps other guitar?

I'm poor XD

If you're desperate to start learning, go get your hands on something from Encore (Budget Fender brand). Otherwise, wait for the Cort.

Me, I have a Warlock, only... It's not BC Rich... The headstock is six-on-a-side (Riches are 3-on-a-side, iirc), and it has an eagle as the 'brand logo'...

Don't mix up fender american strats and fender squier strats (last time I looked at one, made in korea), they look alike but the first one is not a "cheaper guitar", in fact if you compare it to a cort x-2, the cort is way the cheaper one

Anyway, I'd say the best would be to start with a cheap guitar, to at least see if you like playing it. It doesn't make sense to spend money on something you won't use so try first

Yah, definitely go cheap. There are guitar packs where you can buy an electric guitar with an amp that cost around $120. Perfect for beginners and you can figure out if you want to keep playing or not without wasting more money.

My dad bought himself a brand new Fender Strat VG ( USA model) he loves it , so far hes told me about 5 times " it has these switches here so you can make it sound like 6 different guitars"
He also owns this IAXE thing, looks like a squire strat but has a usb socket on it, it comes with some software that works like a DAT recorder wasnt bad for £100

my dad has 2 van helen look-a-like guitars but out of tune, you start to play these guitar, they will start to tune out

Could it be the strings? Or maybe you need new tuners.

I think mine is a Rok Axe RAP-4A Strat copy. I got it for $46 with extra strings and a little guit-bag(I don't call it a case, because it's so cheap). It does it's job, even if it has bad intonation. As long as I play barre chords it sounds good. It's 1/3 scale, which is probably the main reason for the intonation problem.

I also have a First Act 1/3 scale acoustic, which is actually pretty nice.

@Nob: They do Les Pauls with Ethernet ports now too... how strange.

Man, I swear I saw my guitar's brand somewhere on gak.com... Ah well, gotta keep looking.

behringer makes them. I saw some people trying it in a music store and they seemed to think it was working good, especially for the price.
Looks like the guitar has an integrated sound card, you can even plug headphones in it.
