Standard procedure is to let older threads buried under newer threads, the way we do that is by NOT replying in them, so they don't get bumped. We usually only close "resurrected" or controversial threads and let the original posters close their own thread if they don't have anything to add or if they feel they should close it :)
Else we would have to close 3/4 of the existing topics
