I'm currently working on a theme and I often have two different images for the same bg e.g. gameresults, starpower_sidebars and so on. That isn't such a big problem, but if I'd like to ask the others they have to rename all images they want to test and then rename again. That's very hard for all people who aren't so familiar with FoFiX.
So, I suggest adding support for beta files:
file name + beta (for .oggs too)
for example
Normal file name: gameresults.png
Beta file name: gameresultsbeta.png
1.This would make it much easier for theme creators and testers/players to let them choose which image would be better.
2 Or theme makers could include a 2nd set of any image/music they want.
3. I don't think it's really hard to code (I know some files in rb based themes already work this way)
Does someone know all files that already do?
What do you guys think about my idea.

Re: Support for beta files
I think it would be better to make an alternate theme to go along with the original as a separate download. Or you can make "mods" to go in the mods folder.
Also, I think the existing beta images support was removed recently (or there was talk about it anyway, I don't remember exactly).

Re: Support for beta files
Can I put any image e.g. avatarbg.png turn on the mod and it would use it or does there only work some files?

Re: Support for beta files
it works for any image in your theme, but you have to set up the path right.
anything you put in a "mod" replaces something in the data folder, so if you want to replace fileX in your theme, your mod has to have themes/themename/fileX
Rather than me trying to explain and failing miserably, there is a default mod I believe for "MegaLight RB Notes" which will show you exactly what I mean.
It replaces notes.png in the megalight theme, so the path for the notes.png ends up as:
"fofix/data/mods/MegaLight RB Notes/themes/megalight/notes.png"
so for avatarbg.png you would have something like
"fofix/data/mods/YourTheme alternate graphics/themes/YourTheme/lobby/avatarbg.png"
Hope that makes sense.
