Checked the pinned topic, nothing about this and my efforts if this was brought up were quite futile.
Anyways, with all the songs we have out there now, my song selection screen is really cluttered. It takes forever to find a new song. Yes I could create folders, but FoFiX's new song selection screen wouldn't work.
Since FOF is a computer game, couldn't there be some sort of search function in the song select screen? Is it possible at all? Thanks in advance.

This is done... if it's organized by artist, type the first letter of the band, if by song, first letter of the song. I prefer by artist, but that's me.

Lol anthman.
He means in-game. To find the songs you have already PUT IN the game.
He wants a search function so he won't have to go through all the folders to find it.

You can see how he made the mistake with all those newbie topics with exact same questions.
This place does have a FAQ right? Oh yeah... up in the corner. Someone should make it really large and in the middle of the page with the caption "IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD READ THIS FIRST!!!!".
If we keep getting them I'm sure I'll be a very surprised man.

So typing it does work, though I found a problem in FoFiX's new song select: when sorted by difficulty it'll go to the first tier (typing "P" will take me to Polly by Nirvana but not anything else). Maybe a search thing needs to be revamped?

FoFiX is based on RF-mod so by default it uses RF-mod-style search. If it's still working like RF-mod (not on my computer, can't test) I believe you can revert to the original (and more efficient in my opinion) Frets On Fire "filter search" by pressing: / (on my keyboard it's the key at the left of my right-shift). Once you hit "/" you can type words or part of words and it will filter results containing these words or part of words.
Oh, 2000 posts.

Heh, I didn't know that,
It's probably still a lot easier to just change the organization buy pressing the killswitch button/whammy bar.

Re: Search Function within the Song Select Screen
I just make folders that have the band name in them (in the songs folder) so I know where my Metallica, Megadeth, GnR etc. songs are.

Re: Search Function within the Song Select Screen
This definitely works. I noticed black text on the bottom left of the screen that showed what I was typing, but it was obscured by the black background. Oh well, thank you so much for this!

My Quickplay list is completly random though; it's not sorted by artist or by song name! How can i fix this?
Thanks
