I've noticed quite a bit of a problem with the tappable notes in the newest version. When a note in a quick series of tappable notes is missed, the other notes in the series can't be picked to continue playing. This becomes much more obvious in songs like Less Talk More Rokk, where you have to wait through the whole riff for the next one to start before you can continue, or Texas Flood, where you may have to wait upwards of several seconds to find a note that can be picked normally. This was also a problem with songs played in... the game that must not be named.

Also, sometimes even non-tappable notes (chords, even) directly following a tappable note that applies above won't be playable if you don't hit the preceding note.

I'm fairly sure, although not entirely sure, that I'm not mistiming the pick. I've even had times where I managed to pick one, but then it immediately cut out (evidently not due to missing the next note).

I realize that. However, I'm using the new version. RF Mod 4 isn't out (as far as I know), and the latest version of FoF is quite playable without it (aside from the occasional, although bearable crash. I have a hunch on why they occur, but I don't code Python, and that's also quite off-topic). I don't really need any features of RF Mod, so I don't stay downgraded to use it.

Besides, how's it going to get fixed if it's not found?

Are you using a wireless keyboard?
Wireless keyboard lags and wont allow you to tap fast parts :/
I had this problem but RF-mod + skills = fun

I have a Dell Wireless keyboard and I don't experience any lag at all.
Goodbye everyone. It's been fun. I spent many many hours here on these boards and playing/contributing to FoF. Today I uninstalled my game and deleted all my files. I just don't have the time or interest anymore. I won't be coming back here anymore. I might show up in the IRC from time to time to chat. I regret nothing.

So long, farewell.

No. I'm using the Guitar Hero controller, actually.

It's not the controller, I can tap the fast parts. That's not the problem. If I miss one, I can't pick another one until the fast part ends.

Just go back to old version with RF 3.5

I'm pretty sure most of the community has switched back? Am I right people?

It's funny. I post a bug report for the new version and get bombarded with:
Just go back to the old version!

What version I'm using isn't the topic here. Nor should it be. I'm not looking for an immediate fix; it's a very minor bug. I'm just posting it in hopes that it can be fixed for the next version.

Well, talk to the devs then. You know what posting a bug report here'll get you? User-Made bug fixes. Like RF mod. That's why anytime you post a bug here, and it's already been fixed in RF mod, you'll get
RF mod >.>
.

Oh, and everyone already knew the tapping sucked in NewFoF,

Yeah, I know. But the devs should see it here (this forum's linked by the official FoF page, so I would imagine the author looks at it at least occasionally), which is my goal with the thread.

The tapping's not bad at all. This is the only problem I've had with it.

I've used RF Mod before. I'm happy with the new version of Frets on Fire, I don't feel it necessary to downgrade for RF Mod, so stop telling me to already. The glitch is hardly even noticeable, except in certain spots on certain songs.
