Nice ideas for the background.. maybe career mode. - To make the fof unique.. just like gh

Well... I have some nice ideas that would do just perfectly on the fof...

Make a "career mode" that, at the first stages of the programming.. would do a character select, and a guitar select.. and the quick play.. just like the "new game" by now.. would select randomly a character and a guitar..

AND I´m not saying to do a 3d character with all the dificulty of programming and stuff..

I´m saying that.. if you note.. the light bright more as you play a note... so..

If the programmers make some unique style of character.. in 2d.. but just like a doll...

Well.. try to remeber Parrapa the rapper... now.. Separate the body with the arms.. with the head and with the legs..

Don´t need to make animations with it.. let it animate by the junctions of the body... when you play a fret... make the lower arm have a bounce on the string.. just like when you play a fret on the keyboard...

With the body.. legs.. you make something in sync with the drum.. just like in the velocity of the music.. giving it a animation

With this... you can make animations.. only with programming... using only static images.. can you imaginate that?

Make a static image of the face.. arms.. legs.. body.. remembering that type of a paper doll..

The player can make the choice of each part.. and choose a guitar...

In that way.. don´t need to be a full 3d game with complicated programing or realistic animation.. just a fun type of a game.. or making something that looks like the guitar hero for cellphones..

In that way... you can make some legendary guitarrists.. or something that remember.... for pre-made characters.. Jimmy Hendrix.. Stevie Ray Vaughan.. Edie Van Hallen.. Kirk Hammit.. and goes on...

Maybe in the future.. pick a music from them and make a boss battle

What about it? An image of all parts of the body bouncing with sync of the music and the arms bouncing when you press the buttons...

I think that´s the easiest way.. funniest.. and the python can make this..

Maybe in the future put a bass and a drummer... maybe you choose them all and name a band... and it appears in the world chart.. maybe with a pic of the band

Maybe for the drumm would put it in sync with only the low frequency of the music and the hi-hats only of the high frequency... if python accept that...

maybe.. if it works.. with characters and stuff.. put a replay mode with you seeing your band

To make FoF unique like GH is self contradictory. I find no originality in your idea, and it seems to really not add to the game feel. I'm not looking at the background, I'm looking at the fretboard.

Carreer mode is something I agree with, it is pretty hard to find some good idea's for the fretboard...

If FoF is able to display .MNG (Multiple-Image Network Graphic, which is an animated .png) files we could animate some of the images on the neck. I have googled a couple of things and it is said .mng is supported by python so it should be possible to get it to work.

And: Well, obviously if you look at the fretboard you also look at the notes. It would then be cool to make the notes rotate like in GH. But then you DO have to make a couple of notes you can actually see rotating (squares, stars, triangles etc.)

I'm saying a more carismatic style.. with full selectable range of characters, including some legendary guitar idols..

The possibility of that is to make career mode with you can "buy" guitars on the game giving it more objectivity to the game..

not only to be limited to the fret board... see? if the creators don't think in something further of that... wy would they put a story on gh3?

I'm not giving ideas for the fret board because.. everyone do.. the creators must have great ideas for it too...

IF a character change is implemented we might be able to use NightmareJG's band mod and make multiple pictures for that guitar-player.

And those different guitars... Well, that's only about changing the neck but I mentioned that earlier.

And different backgrounds, like multiple stages. Well, that one is more tricky to explain but I'll try my best:
If you put a sub-folder in your data/songs folder where you put your songs in, you will get a library. How about if FoF detects a background (.svg, .png, .mng etc) in a library all songs in that library will get that background.
So, you have the song 'jordan' and put it in a library with a, let's say, las vegas-background in it and you play the song FoF will auto-load the background.

There might be a better way for this but at the moment I can't come up with anything better

I quickly made a concept:




Obviously somebody else would have to do the artwork. You can have a png for the right forearm, which you rotate, as well as a png for the head, which you move up and down. The left hand might be a bit more difficult to do, either have it static, or find some system for it . It could also move up and down the fretboard according to the sound of the guitar.ogg .

It´s not simply put someone in the bg.. it´s to make a whole career mode using this concept too... see?

make your own band.. choose the style of your guitarrist (moves)

play for money and buy guitars..

when you are playing bad.. the public act in a different way...

not only to be only a "practicing mode"

Just give it a nice style of characters.. maybe put a replay mode to see "you" playing.. that would be nice!

If you think further... that´s totally a waste of programming... but that´s really.. really cool and give a good face to fof... or why not give it a 2d face?

Why not think only give a .txt text or a crappy video showing how to play to the tutorial?

No.. they think different of that... that´s why fof is so amazing..

And I think if they pick an idea of a good career mode.. the game will be much more cool... more than it already is..
