When I import a midi that was made in Reaper, and they used midbeat tempo changes, it messes up the map.

If you're importing it for the purpose of adding a pro guitar upgrade or something, you can try to have EOF store the original MIDI's tempo track into the project. That way, when EOF saves your edits, the original tempo map is used and all notes/events/etc. are written to MIDI reflecting that tempo map. This was designed as a hackish solution though, it's better to have them author Rock Band MIDIs sensibly as the original RBN documentation demonstrated (ie. no mid-beat tempo changes).

Well it's a very very common problem when downloading cons from C3. I've been just making my own tempo maps and copy/pasting everything over.. But that just takes a lot of unnecessary time.

Of course, mid beat tempo shifts happen in music too...

Maybe to the effect of slowing down at the end of a song, but it's better to not make things harder than they have to be. Like when people compose music with nonstandard time signatures.

Edit: Back to the original request, I can consider a preference to discard mid-beat tempo changes encountered during MIDI import, with the understanding that the tempo map created during save will not match the original MIDI's tempo map. This would probably only matter if you were creating an upgrade package (ie. adding pro guitar/bass) to a Rock Band custom and needed to leave the custom alone (ie. not alter its tempo map).

raynebc wrote:Looks like starting with the second verse, you started authoring lyrics with text events instead of the proper lyric events. EOF was converting them to lyrics, but then also importing them as text events, which is why EOF would then write the affected lyrics as both a lyric event and a text event. If you correct your original MIDI in REAPER (which will be necessary for use in Rock Band anyway), it will probably not be a problem anymore but I'll improve EOF's handling of this.

Oh, that makes sense. I'm just upgrading this chart to have pitched vocals, so when I encountered this issue, it caught me off guard. It was easily fixed with CAT, however, only clicked a button and it changed all the text events to lyrics.
Hopefully that fixes the issue.

CAT might not check whether there is a text event and a lyric at the same time. In EOF, you could go into the vocal track, open "Beat>Events>All Events", filter to just show the vocal track's events and then delete all the text events, which would involve clicking the delete button about 250 times (make sure to leave the commands in brackets such as "[idle]" and "[play]".

Any chance to add a way to test our chart in Clone Hero, directly through EOF ? Just like with PS and FoF

Does Clone Hero support any command line parameters to directly launch and immediately play a specific chart difficulty of a file? Even then, it would have to convert the MIDI file to a Feedback file, and there are some bugs/limitations with the converter as I understand it.

I will ask srylain for you.

Edit:
srylain's response:
"It only supports the generic Unity command line stuff; not quite sure how I could get that to work, given how everything is already setup..."

New response:
