I never use that feature. This is entirely why beta tests are important.

It's probably the same issue that causes this for all instrument tracks and the vocal track.

Re: EOF 1.8b pro guitar charting now available
I've always had a problem with vocals, when you right click and hold a note even for a second, it will rapidly change between pitched and pitchless states.
on other tracks, right clicking and holding does not rapidly change states.
this is really quite crap because i almost always end up with the wrong state.

Re: EOF 1.8b pro guitar charting now available
So, eof 1.8b won't make midi's correctly for me.
every other file is fine, just the notes.mid. It won't load right in fofix, says "TypeError: It is not a valid midi file!". It won't load in fl studio (error parsing midi file), and it happens with every single song i've made in eof 1.8b, songs made with 1.71 work fine though.
Am i stupid and doing something wrong, and is there a way to fix this?

obviously its unstable since its a beta version, you should stick to 1.71 till he releases a stable version of 1.8

Re: EOF 1.8b pro guitar charting now available
i think he posted a fix to this a little ways back in the thread... the midi importer wasn't functional for a lil bit until then...

Replicated. I'll look into this. The best workaround for now is to use the up/down arrow keys or using CTRL+left click on the full piano to change an existing lyric's pitch.

Did you already download the updated eof.exe in the first post? As kamakazikilla mentioned, I already fixed the MIDI export problem.

For charts that you intend to post on the forum immediately, or in a competition, by all means use a stable release. But for testing or to start working on a pro guitar chart, beta testing helps us arrive at a stable release more quickly.

I realized I forgot to mention that you can author trill, tremolo and drum roll phrases (new in Rock Band 3) in this beta release. Details have been added to the first post.

Re: EOF 1.8b pro guitar charting now available
Awesome!!! Too bad they aren't implemented yet into PS.
I noticed in some RB3 charts they use trill phrases for fast strumming. Is this possible yet with EOF?
-- Edit: February 8th, 2011, 5:57 pm --
I found a minor glitch. If you mark a trill section then delete it without removing it EOF crashes.

I'm not sure what you mean, what's one of the RB3 charts that has this, and about what time into the song is it?

I'm having trouble replicating this. How are you deleting the section? Are you deleting all notes within the section? Are there any other particular settings in effect when this occurs?

Re: EOF 1.8b pro guitar charting now available
First:
Intro to Crazy Train (unlimited strum speed) and very last section of 25 or 6 to 4. Those are the only songs I know of that have this.
2nd:
I charted a random section of trills (blue and yellow if it matters) and I marked the entire section (there was only like 10 notes or whatever) for the trills. I then clicked the first note and pushed shift and the last note, and hit delete on my keyboard. Crash.

Harmonix authored that as 5 separate tremolo phrases.

That's authored as a single tremolo phrase

I tried to reproduce this but was unable to do so. If you are able to save the chart so that all you have to do is open it, select some notes and delete them to cause a crash, please submit the chart so I can debug the problem.
